It’s not true, and stop trying to find excuses for this ridiculous drop. She trained at nop for years, she probably had a tent. We’re really doing everything we can to find an excuse for this time, when the most obvious answer is right in front of us.
I always wonder where all this shoe denial comes from. Like are these all people who are still competing and don't want to give any credit to the shoes in their times? Why is it so important to dismiss the shoes for these people? It's obviously not the only factor, but it is the biggest one. I feel like it started off as "but then you'd see the pros breaking records" to rationalize all the collegiate times all of the sudden improving. Now that a significant number of pro distance records have gone down in the last ~4 years, it's pointing to improved training/recovery, wavelight, etc., but still denying the effect of the shoes. It seems that we've more or less gotten over the hump to the acceptance stage of supershoes on the roads, so maybe time to get there on the track? Then we can move on to focus more on the racing vs. going gaga over times in every single race and then debating back and forth about the shoes.
She has a strong mile time, 4:15.34 and decent 5000m time, 14:43.8, but this 1500 puts her on another level. I personally can't imagine running a 3:50.83 1500 and only a 1:59.99 800 though! Maybe if she had run an 800 today, she would've been at 1:55-ish judging from the 1500 time?
THIS!!!!! How many 3:50 1500 runners have a 2 minute 800 PB. Today Jess runs 2 X 2:04 800 back-to-back. Her 800 PB was from this year BTW.
Americans will not medal in Paris. These two just up the stake again. Left Muir in a dust. Which Nike spikes were the two wearing?
They both were wearing the ones with the air bags today. I could sideline a discussion on running mechanics as to why that may be important, particularly for Hull, but I’ll save it, for now.
She just annihilated the CWR. Light years ahead of Muir's 3:54.50. Insane. Will be rooting for her in Paris.
Caucasian World Record, right, you disgusting racist?
Amazing. That post and this one:

The reality in the year 2024 is we are far more likely to see racism when there is none than to actuallly see racism.
The realiity is this. There currently is an 8-page thread - much bigger than this one - talking about they view Hull as suspicious. And CWR refers to Commownealth World Record not Caucasian World Record.

There’s literally an entire several page long thread debating if Hull is doping …
When I went to letsrun to see rxns to the 1500wr there were only two threads about it being promoted on letsruns homepage (they claim an algorithm determines which threads get those spots—I don’t go sifting through the threads), one for kipyegon, one for hull. They were, at the time, vibing on two totally different wavelengths
False. An algorithm doesn't do anything on letsrun and we've never said it does.
We pride ourselves on being a human search engine. A computer puts up "super hot threads" and that's it (and counts the most popular threads at the bottom of the forum).
I think Bill Rodgers was coached by Bill Squires in his Prime, Pete Julian May have Consulted Bill Rodgers as he became mostly self coached, I am sure Pete Julian contributed to Bill Rodgers career as I am Sure Bill Squires consulted with him about training methods, but I think Bill Squires was Rodgers Main Coach.

Oh my…the reality is that you are oblivious to racism.
Not clean at all. Women can't run even remotely close to 3.50,clean,and i wouldn't be surprised if they can't even break 4 minutes, clean. Its not the fancy shoes either, because she's worn them for years. Didnt she run an 8.23 indoors 3000 this year? That too,is ridiculous.

Commonwealth record not Commonwealth world record.
She said she thought her “splits” indicated she was in 3:52 shape. “Splits” are from workouts, I presume, and an Instagram post from two days shows her running workouts in the non-airbag shoes, whereas, she was wearing the airbags today.

What follows is well beyond anything she'd done before at age 27, a 3s drop, the same age as Hull, but part of it was the shoes, and her pr at this point was from Champs and she could be figured to drop time in a Monaco setup single race. 2021 3:51.07 Stade Louis II, Monaco (MON) 09 JUL 2021 (superspikes/Monaco, 3s drop) 2022 3:50.37 Stade Louis II, Monaco (MON) 10 AUG 2022 (another .8s drop) 2023 3:49.11 Stadio Luigi Ridolfi, Firenze (ITA) 02 JUN 2023 (WR, another 1.2s drop at 29) 2024 3:49.04 Stade Charléty, Paris (FRA) 07 JUL 2024 (WR at 30!)
Jessica Hull, October 22, 1996:
Notable that she was really slow at 800m until this year. Her pr had been 2:03.78 in 2019 at age 22. This year she ran 1:59.99 June 22, the obvious precursor to this race. So, her speed is markedly improved and the leader went through 800m in about 2:03 today.

Well you miss some things of course. She switched coaches to Patrick Sang in 2019 after pregnancy and got the superspikes too. In 2020 she focused on speed with no championships and lowered her 800 PB to 1:57.68 (win) and before that tried to set a world record at 1,000 (3 attempts, all wins) 2:29.1 best ~ by points worth a 3:54 from a strength 1500m runner with marginally smaller spike effect. So you have a coaching switch, faster spikes, wavelight and a focus on records. She was winning everything before her pregnancy but didn’t seem to chase times a la Jakob in 2022 vs 2023.
The Hull progression is far more surprising to me. She was running maximally hard in the fastest spikes before this. She’s just a very changed runner. Hoping she’s clean!
