Pretty quick times from Jones and Sutherland, could they be medal contenders in Paris? Gold and silver seem locked up but I could see one of them potentially getting bronze if they have a good race.
Should have known. I usually don’t bag on announcers but he’s just awful. Both the steeple and the 400 were very obviously threatening the collegiate records and he had no clue until 2 minutes after. He’s either mailing it in or just so bad he’s unaware. Maybe both.

I don't know that I have ever seen an event where the college women look less like the pros or like men. Where is the run up? There was almost no acceleration, as they were sideways the whole approach.

Weird.
If you have no idea what you're talking about you can just not post your opinion, valid option.

You’re the same guy who was trashing Valby on the other thread. Is anyone good enough for you?
But they still can't be taught to have an approach with some speed?
I mean, it's jarringly different.
Go watch dec jav and you'll see athletes only crossover stepping, faster is not always better in jav, which you would know if you knew anything about jav.

I know NOTHING about the javelin, which is why I asked the question.
To me, as an outsider to that event, it was like looking at someone still doing the roll in the high jump.
I guess my question remains. Can't decathlon or heptathlon athletes learn to make an approach like javelin competitors?
Does it take crazy amounts of time, increase injury rate, or what?
