I recommend you to look at a map if you think you are equally jet lagged flying from Kenya as you are flying over from the US. Seriously.
Shortest flight time from Eldoret to Oslo is 21 hours, that will leave you pretty exhausted even if it's only a couple time zones. Driving the six hours to Nairobi doesn't save you any time, either.
How is it that there are so many people here that doesn't understand the concept of time zones and what jet lagged mean?
I remember thinking farah was going to lose in London after the 5000m in Paris diamond league also. Its typical for ethiopeans to peak early so they qualify and then underperform in the championship. Jakob is my biggest favorite for olympics still in my book
say jacob is stuck at 345 mile, name a 5000 guy that is going to outkick him?
he just beat a 143 800 guy in the stretch.
Gebrhiwet last 400 in a 5000 was faster then Jakob last 400 in a 1500...
Tim certainly looking stronger in this race like his old self. If he gets back to a similar form to Tokyo and takes on some front running that could play into Jakob’s hands. He took the lead at the Tokyo final at 450m and held it until the final 150m. This may be the best news for Jacob to get another front runner in form to help run the kick out of Kerr/Wightman
Bad night for Jakob with his 5000m competitors looking much stronger than anticipated before as well. A decent chance he goes home with no golds this olympics
i seen the race and Ingerbritsen lost by a hair, they didn't show the pictures or replay of whose hips crossed the line first. It was Chariot that crossed firs. You would think that the norwegians would be fair. No. Their judgement was tainted by their love for the hometown hero, Ingerbritsen. But at least we know with absolute certainty that Warholm lost. Dos Santos is the guy to beat, not Warholm.
Go to worldathletics. Jakob won, barely. Take off those rose tinted glasses of liberal guilt.
Ignoring that ridiculous reply, the rule is torso, not hips. Although hips might be a better criteria were we ever to consider a switch.
Tim physically passed Jakob and it's only that desperate lunge for the line that got Jakob the win. Happy to see the potato man back close to his best and hope his experience will prove to count in Paris. But as mentioned upthread, he and Jakob will need to run the sting out of the kickers because Jake Wightman and new boy in school Brian Komen can close in sub-13
Eugene -> Oslo is almost identical in distance from Eldoret -> Oslo. I mean really, draw a circle around Oslo that intersects Eldoret, and it would also intersect Eugene. It's really quite sad that you and everyone who upvoted this didn't look at a map themselves
tell me you're an ignorant american who's never travelled and had jetlag, without saying 'i'm an ignorant american who's never travelled and had jetlag'
