deal is this. you break your ankle jumping a steeple obstacle there is no point in playing for time. you're done. if you're more like klecker or tuohy, nagging but non-cast-and-crutches issue, why not leave it til closer to the qualifying deadline. if you get healthy you chase the number at some meet. if you can't, you do your klecker announcement and pull the plug. and as someone noted, tuohy would make it on rank at the moment, so she doesn't currently have to "do" anything to get in. it's just a health and fitness question.
re the drug stuff, no one has ever said they saw anything, and it's an amusing theory, a pro runner who never runs or they'd fail a test. nah, this girl was prized in HS, won out the gate, didn't magically appear atop NCAA, doesn't have some weird erratic pattern of meet attendance, isn't accused of whereabouts. literally nothing.
She will not be racing the trials. She is nowhere near ready right now.
Bummer!
Thanks, Tuffy.
Maybe she can train on the arc trainer and get ready in a month? It would be kind of ironic if she was using the arc trainer given her rivalry with Valby. Tuohy should do it too though since it seems to work the best to get in shape quickly.

Tuffy, nice to see you posting. Are you 100% on that? Touhy is at least healthy and doing workouts. I wouldn't be surprised if she opened up at the trials for the experience. Doesn't have to be about her being competitive. I know personally, I wouldn't turn down the opportunity if given and if I was her sponser, I'd want her to show up no matter the shape.
99% certain she won't run. If you know Katelyn, or Coach Henes, at all, you know she won't race until she is ready. Lord knows the scrutiny she will face should she go out and not perform to everyone's standards.
I hope she finally realizes that is just not true. Fans have stayed with her through thick and thin, injuries, down races, struggles. Personally I think it would be nice just to get her pro debut out of the way if healthy.
Can we get an update on her status. I’ll keep my couch potato guess to myself until I know her physical capability. She’s been off the radar for some time now.
Yeah. It is probably better to wait a bit. But hopefully some of that pressure will ease off and she can just race like a regular pro. I appreciate that Elly Henes and Mike Smith seem to like 'racing into shape', as she has called it. But, Tuohy has to do what is right for her recovery.
Do you think she will perhaps debut at a Diamond league event this summer?
I just think the pressure is being self-imposed. Ok. She is not at peak fitness and the arc trainer she has is not magical. So what? No one is going to be down on her.
From World Athletics I came up with this from results 7/1/23 and later
14:19.5 Alicia MONSON 14:34.1 Elle ST. PIERRE 14:35.4 Weini KELATI FREZGHI 14:46.5 Josette ANDREWS 14:47.2 Elly HENES 14:49.8 Courtney WAYMENT 14:52.7 Elise CRANNY 14:52.8 Parker VALBY 14:58.4 Ella DONAGHU 15:01.1 Courtney FRERICHS 15:01.7 Allie BUCHALSKI 15:02.1 Whittni MORGAN 15:02.6 Karissa SCHWEIZER 15:03.1 Taylor WERNER 15:03.2 Abby NICHOLS 15:04.0 Annie RODENFELS 15:05.8 Bethany HASZ 15:06.0 Kayley DELAY 15:10.1 Rachel SMITH 15:11.2 Abbey COOPER 15:12.5 Emily INFELD 15:13.4 Amanda VESTRI 15:13.8 Katie WASSERMAN 15:13.8 Emily LIPARI 15:15.0 Taylor ROE 15:15.3 Katelyn TUOHY 15:15.5 Maggie MONTOYA 15:15.8 Maddy ELMORE 15:17.2 Alyson CHURCHILL 15:18.2 Margot APPLETON 15:18.8 Bailey HERTENSTEIN 15:20.7 Lexy HALLADAY 15:20.9 Molly BORN 15:21.5 Katie CAMARENA 15:21.8 Chloe SCRIMGEOUR 15:22.5 Lauren GREGORY 15:23.1 Olivia MARKEZICH 15:25.0 Anna CAMP BENNETT 15:25.1 Sydney THORVALDSON 15:25.1 Jennifer RANDALL 15:25.3 Elizabeth LEACHMAN 15:26.7 Ella BARAN 15:28.6 Grace HARTMAN 15:29.6 Savannah SHAW 15:29.8 Hannah STEELMAN
Monson is out, Kelati may be 10k only (?), Wayment, Halladay and Markezich are likely in 3000s, Elmore scratched from NCAAs, I think Camp Bennett declared for 1500
You blast every person who makes a realistic prediction. You and 2 other crazy fans created the pressure without realizing it. You called her generational talent.
