All the high stacked "super shoes" are great for longer distances, mostly because they are cushioned and light. Before the Vaporfly, there was never really a good lightweight marathon racing flat. You would either destroy your legs to run a little faster in flats or save your legs and run a few minutes slower in trainers. Now we have the best of both worlds.
Now for the spikes, they definitely don't make you much faster or we would seeing some crazy 400 and 800 times. They are definitely more comfortable and save the calves which in turn allows you to train and recover faster, therefore race faster.
If everyone in the Pre Mile lined up in Victories, I would bet the times wouldn't be more than a 1 second faster.
Nobody says that the shoes return more energy. The shoes do artificially improve efficiency by a measurable amount (one manufacturer say 4%). That's cheating, plain and simple.
Isn’t the goal to always improve and maximize the efficiency of the motion in any discipline? F1 racing, running, cycling, golf swing, 3 point shooting, swimming…the list is endless. I’m perplexed as to how the energy return can be labeled “artificial”, if the energy return in question is not greater than the energy generated by the athlete. Artificial implies it is generated by another source, and it has been proven it hasn’t, which you agree upon. Isn't that just simply greater maximizing what’s already there and being generated by the athlete?
science has tried and failed repeatedly for decades on end to comprehend the mechanics of running. No honest scientist can ethically claim shoes make a runner faster.
The wavelight is real though. Bekele should drop the "magic shoes" claim, it weakens his case.
it's one thing to deny the science of super shoes... sure the testing could be shoe propaganda although I believe 3rd party vo2max tests have been done with them.
but then to say wavelights are better than super shoes. There are almost no runners besides you maybe that would take wavelights over shoes in a solo TT

You said the spikes definitely don't make you much faster - they just make you race faster.

Yes, the efficiency improvement is not provided by the athlete. Thus, it is artificial.
Glad you brought up F1, Golf, etc. Nobody thinks current F1 speeds are due to the current driver's superiority over drivers from the past, they accept that it's due to the improved technology. Nobody thinks that the PGA tour's average driving distance is superior to the past because current golfers are so much better. They know that the increased driving distance is due to the equipment.
Only here do, people try to deny the improvement is due to the technology. It's weird that you want to deny that the shoes account for the improvement.

Nowhere in this thread, or anywhere, have I tried to make the argument you are now attempting to gaslight me with. You know why gaslighting exists? For two reasons: 1) ignorance and inability to follow logic, and 2) for people that are backed into a corner but can never bring themselves to admit it, so try to twist the nature of the entire conversation into something it’s not.
Of course the improvements are due to the shoes. 1000000%. I have never once said that to be untrue. The point, or my point, is that that is perfectly fine. Improvements jumped when track surfaces got better. Improvements jumped when sneakers became an actual running shoe. When spikes evolved into a better product. “Super shoes”, as they are called, have been proven to not provide any additional energy that the runner hasn’t created, therefore no springs, no motors, no wheels. That can only leave it as the next evolution of technology, which obviously increased performance, or else why bother increasing technology to begin with if it doesn’t make improvements.
Next time stay focused on the discussion at hand. No need to try to change your argument once you realize your first one is mute.

Does the first point not talk? Next time you want to insult someone, proof read.
As far as your argument that the shoes don't return more energy than put in therefore no advantage, it's silly. No machine in the history of the world creates more energy than is put in. It's actually impossible. Your point is the one that's moot.
They aren't human...they are fallen angel hybrids...the vast majority of human beings have been assimilated with the 33% of angels/demons released from the bottomless pit. Rev 9:3.
The covid V A X (aka the White horse man Rev:6:2) turned those who were naive enough to trust their demonic governments into human 2.0s...We are witnessing the dawn of a new era. The rise of the machines is here.
Wake up to your true reality if you are still human.
