Only sprinter I recall who was never implicated was Gail Devers.
She was the best female sprinter and 100m hurdler of the 1990s, and I don't recall a bad word about her. Her collision with the final hurdle in the 1992 Olympic Games final when she was way ahead of the field deprived her of double gold in the 100m sprint and 100m hurdles that year, though she still ended up dominating the 100m hurdles with three world championship golds during her peak years, bookended by a couple of silvers.
We can never truly know, only guess at who's on what. As long as the athletes don't get flagged down mid race I for one will still enjoy it irrespective of later finding out people are on stuff.
I feel sorry for the Marion Jones, Ben Johnson's and Lance Armstrong's who got scapegoated by ruling bodies. Dumping it all on them. They become depicted as pure evil while the many athletes getting away with it walk around like the sun shines out of the proverbial.
lance fked a ton of ppl over bozo in order to keep his fraud going - ruining careers and vindictively attacking ppl. use your brain next time thanks
Some secret positive p.e.d. test results were leaked from 1980-something and other secret positive p.e.d. test results were not leaked. Over the past seventy-five years, 100m through 800m world records have only slightly improved while 1500m to Marathon world records have improved significantly over the past 75 years but you want us to believe sprinters are dirty and 1500m to Marathoners are clean?
Look at improvements prorated versus total times. I don't know how it looks, but absolute improvement isn't what to look at.
My cousin is a national record holder in an Olympic track and field event in a developed nation and hangs out with top tier sprinters. I've asked him point blank about doping more than once and he just flat refuses to answer. I don't think he dopes actually - he never really realized his potential (he had Olympic medal potential) because he lacked that win at all cost mentality - but he just won't speak about the topic because he doesn't want to lie.

Is that the Gail Devers that started wearing braces in her late 20s!? I believe she was given a pass because she had some sort of disease. Just because someone has a pleasant personality doesn't mean they're not using some sort of aid.

Devers was diagnosed with Graves' disease, which, in her case, apparently caused, among other things, vision problems and extreme difficulties with walking. I don't know whether the disease resulted in any decision to use braces on her legs, teeth, or any other part of her body. And in any case, such braces would not have required "a pass" in her particular competitive events, nor would "a pleasant personality" have been a defense to charges of improper assistance.
