Interesting. This would point to pretty even, but there're just far more African runners training who could hit that sub-27ish type shape (and not sub-13) that we don't see because they specialize in the Half Marathon or Marathon. Let's go with Daniel Mateiko, for an example. There aren't many Western athletes like this (either by design or talent), which is why we struggle so mightily in the Half Marathon.
God is only capitalized when referring to the one true God. "A distance god" gets no capitalization.
LOL, the one true gawd huh? Out of all the thousands humans have invented, of course the one you just happened to be raised with is the real one? What a tool you are.

Yes Renato seems to be clear that in addition to having more talent for either the 5 or the 10, he is convinced that the training makes a big difference in the performance in the two events. I do not always agree with Renato but his experience with training these runners makes his opinion invaluable and clearly one not to be dismissed lightly. I think you’re correct about your point regarding these half marathon and longer types, including people like Wanjiru, Kamworor, Kandie, dare I say Rhonex Kipruto etc who have an easier time breaking 27 than 13, as opposed to many other runners. Although in the case of Ritz it gets complicated because he ran 12:56 getting pulled the whole way, he ran 27:22 in a world championship race, and he ran good half marathons, so I do think he possibly had - sub 27 in him although the opportunities were not ample.
How hard were his races last weekend? Obviously racing (and doubling) is stressful. But the 5000 was at like 13:35 pace before he closed in a fast 800. So most of the race was 40 seconds slower than his PR. Assuming he is in 7:30ish shape, the 3000 was run 15 seconds slower than his fitness before kicking.
