Results for Palisades (the team that many people thought would make NXN next fall just because last year they took 6th in the CIF merge and lose only 2 seniors).
The Buchanan girls seem to be in a major decline. Was there a coaching change this year?
I remember someone making a post in the CA XC 2023 thread that the Buchanan girls were declining. From this meet, they were also missing some of their runners from the NXN squad. Sundgren / Buckley didn’t run the 800, 1600, or the 3200.

Even with those girls missing, is it strange to have none of the Buchanan girls running faster than 5:05? especially when Lomeli and Cornett have run 4:46 and 4:48. Now they are running 5:11 and 5:13. That is a big change.

Ashlyn Boothby, a 4:39 runner who placed 2nd at State in the 1600, ran 5:17 at K-Bell. These girls are all probably just building up into what will be a long season for all of them.

Good point. I think another poster mentioned the XC thread so now I watch the results a little closer. But you are correct it is a long season maybe just getting into shape for the long haul.
