Latest IG post is about how working out at 1pm Is equally beneficial as working out at 5am. No need to show some “mental toughness”
so many holes in this crap. First off- time doesn’t matter based on when you fall asleep as 8 hours is 8 hours. Second- if the temperature is 100 degrees at 1pm vs 60 degrees at 5am then let’s see your mad science math on that. 3rdly, some people feel better in the AM and some in the PM as he stated- but with his “research” he didn’t state that he let his teams when he wasn’t winning NCAA title that he split workouts based on the best time for each person to run because it would affect team chemistry and strain resources… no our leading scientists tells us a basic “working out at 5am is as good as 1pm” with no context.
This is ridiculous.
Why are you rage following Magness on Insta, then initiating a thread here? There are LEGIONS of terrible coaches with terrible takes. If you think he is an unworthy coach, why even respond? I don’t have time to pick dudes out of the crowd and call them out here for their terrible takes. On LR.com such a task would be a full time job for hundreds of people.
All the guy does is argue for moderation, balance and complexity rather than extreme thinking, radical shortcuts, and oversimplified advice that is commodified and sold. You got a problem with that to the extent that you go on here and stir up like minded offendees? You are doing so over an instagram post that you are willfully misreading as an insult to your personal toughness or discipline or something your 8th grade PE teacher screamed at you as if it was truth?
Methinks the lady doth protest too much, and Mr. Magness hit a nerve.
Full disclosure: In 2016 I met Magness at a party in Eugene at the trials. I’d had plenty to drink. I told him I thought his stuff was thought provoking. He was self-effacing, humble, and not a douche at all. He may not be a HOF coach or anything, but he actually left that business. Unfollow if you can’t handle him.
