You are clearly too stupid to understand what is being discussed. The debate isn't over who has the better head to head. Races are against a field, not one other runner. Jakob has won fewer WC finals than Kerr. Like, zero. Whatever claims are made about his career so far that is a significant deficiency in his achievements and claims that he is the dominant 1500 runner today. A hat-trick of losses in WC finals isn't dominance.
Nor do I accept the bs excuse that Jakob wasn't healthy. His semifinal display showed otherwise. If he was truly ill he wouldn't have raced or if he did he would have likely been DNF. He certainly wouldn't have come out and later won the 5k final, as he did.
You are clearly too stupid to understand what this thread is about, and you continue to talk abou Kerr vs Jakob.
Try reading the thread title and staying on topic for once, you demented fart.
Another ph*qwit. Running fans are certainly pretty thick. The thread has become about Jakob because Kerr lost to Nuguse - even though that has no direct relevance to Jakob - because Jakob fans look for every way to diminish Kerr's beating Jakob and the fact that Jakob has lost yet another championship 1500 final. Otherwise no one here gives a ph*q that someone called Nuguse beat Kerr.
It isn't about his record against Kerr. It doesn't matter who he loses to - he's lost 3 straight WC 1500 finals. So "next guys" 3, Jakob 0. In 3 finals the "next guys" were better than your hero.
How come you don't include the 2021 OG?
Because they are not the World Championships, which is the competition Jakob has yet to win over the 1500. That lack of a 1500 title is the same reason El G was desperate for an Olympic title in '04, which he had yet to win, even though he had several World Championship titles. The Olympics and the World Champs are separate competitions and no victory in one compensates for the other. Athing Mu has also just shown that.
This thread did not raise the question of who has the better career overall or even who is the better runner - that is certainly premature on the basis of a single World Championship win by Kerr - but it tries to use Kerr's loss to Nuguse as a way of diminishing his victory over Jakob. It doesn't. And Nuguse's win means very little after his not even placing in the World Champs.

It was not specifically about WC finals, but championship fanals. JI is clearly the most succesfull 1500m runner of the last 5 years.

He may be the most successful statistically amongst his peers but that isn't true dominance in the event. His inability to so far win a World Championship title over the distance underscores that. He has shown in big finals that he is clearly vulnerable to the "next guy" - whoever that may be. Those that "own" an event - who are truly dominant - win the big titles, whether they are Olympic or World Championship titles.

Isn't the OG title as important as the WC? Didn't Jakob win the OG 1500? Your claim is he cannot win the big meets 1500. That's nonsense. He lost WC in 2019 when he was 18 years old. And this year when apparently sick.

Kills any claim that Kerr has to being #1 in the 1500m for 2023
And Nuguse's win means very little after his not even placing in the World Champs.
Whatever the stupid one means by "not even placing", Nuguse was fifth.
Did you like the World Champs? Which event did you enjoy most? I was there, it was great. Both 1500s, Tsegay, Hassan, Richardson and many more. Also great field events, both discus finals were great. Your favourit athlete currently? Small info: Snell is not running anymore, so who is it?

OG title for sure is more important than a WC title.
So you say J Ingebrigtsen is or was sick. Prove it. Let's here or see documents directly from a health care professional. J I lost then said he was sick. Yes, he was suffering from acute depression after his loss.
His doctor literally said so in the media... Your suspicion is very strange. I think most thought that Jakob looked a bit off. He never said being sick was an excuse, but that the best runner that day won.
By saying he was sick and "not a 100 per cent" he was offering that as the reason why he lost. That is an excuse and it diminishes Kerr's victory. By contrast, in "the Dream Mile" at Vancouver in '54 John Landy ran with a cut foot but made no mention of it after the race and simply said "the better runner on the day" won, and Bannister ran with a heavy cold but also said nothing about it and congratulated his rival for pushing him to his limits. If you line up at the start you are fit enough to race. If you lose, you take the loss without excuses or diminishing your competitors' victory. Jakob has yet to learn that.
I also don't think Jakob looked "a bit off" - he was absolutely ebullient in his semi. I think his problem is that he struggles to beat faster runners off a less than maximum pace from the gun, where he is also drafted. Thoughtsleader has explained that very well.

No, it doesn't. A World Championship title over Jakob makes that claim, not an irrelevant event a week later. Jakob's only answer might have been a world record this year in the 1500. But that isn't going to happen.

Placing in an event is medalling. Otherwise coming last is also "placing". But I am sure you know quite a lot about that.

Okay so by your own logic Jakob OWNS and TRULY DOMINATES the 5000m lololol why don’t you ever talk about that

He was "sick" because he lost. He didn't lose because he was sick.
I said he couldn't win championship titles in the context of a discussion about the World Championships. It wasn't about the Olympics.

Because the discussion has been about the 1500. His success in the 5k is not an issue - and certainly not in this thread.
However to be truly dominant in that event he would probably require an Olympic title as well as his WC titles - and the world record. The former is possible but the latter is unlikely at this stage.
OG title for sure is more important than a WC title.
It is at the Olympics but not at the World Championships.
At the Olympics an Olympic title is more important than a World title - aha. What's wrong with posters like this old man?
To clarify it for you, Armstupid: the Olympics are more important than the World champs. And the World champs are more important than the South East Asian games.
But you havn't said which event in Budapest you liked most. Maybe the women's 10000m? Tsegay, Gidey, Taye. OK, no Lorraine Moller, unfortunately she missed to qualify.
I'll repeat what I said on the other thread: Kerr and Wightman will lose more races than they win going forward. There won't be a "Kerr era" or "Wightman era". No knock on these two great runners, just the way the 1500m evolves. And judging by the rate of young up-and-comers with potential for greatness, the days when Hicham El Guerrouj and Asbel Kiprop would dominate the event for a literal decade are gone.
The "Jakob era" so far involves more championship losses than victories over the 1500.
We’re only on the second year of the Jakob era. His Olympic win was an upset during the Potato Tim era.
