Initially, this thread was entitled "UCLA track coach, Sean Brosnan, Fired for NCAA violations" but we changed it as Brosnan told us he was simply not renewed for next year.
Seems like Brosnan pictures himself as the next Schumacher or something. I know coaches like him, though. They don’t care about their athletes, it’s all for their own ego.
Either way, I love drama.
Any chance he could coach the Tinman Elite or whatever they are?
Would NCAA rules allow any of the women who transferred to UCLA this year to be allowed to transfer back to their previous institutions with now losing Brosnan? Assuming you can only transfer once and the prior schools wouldn’t want them back, but would be interesting
Just because an athlete announced a commitment to UCLA soon after entering the portal doesn't necessarily mean there was tampering. An athlete, from LA, could have been set on going back home. Wants to attend UCLA under Brosnan. Very good athlete. Enters transfer portal, talks to him immediately, announces it soon after.
Makes sense to me. I know someone who transferred to a top (academically; decent athletically) program and committed very quickly after he entered the portal. But he didn't like the environment and wanted to leave immediately, so he jumped on the first academically good school that offered him
Lol. He specifically mentions Letsrun and states those that post "anonymously on a message board are cowards"
You cannot tell me that magnoliac22 account that was registered today and somehow had insider information that aligns with Brosnan’s livestream was not an attempt by Brosnan to post anonymously on LRC.
Brojos, I will pay whatever price you want to get the I.P. Address for "magnoliac22". I have a feeling it's somewhere around Big Bear.
Essentially the high profile transfers (Barnett, Frias, Caesar, McDonnell) are under NCAA investigation and UCLA panicked and resorted to firing him???? DISASTER for this program and these student athletes. Sean deserved better than to be humiliated in front of the entire country because he was killing recruiting and Virginia/Duke/Alabama were threatened!!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It's not uncommon to see these HS teams that reach MEGA levels of success being coached by people who are nothing but self-centered narcissist. I don't need to name names- but think about the teams in CA in last 10 years that have been led by coaches who have reached NXN several times each year. All share a common trait don't they.

It is possible that this guy is annoying to some and this was enough to get him out of there. This happens all the time. Annoying people are annoying.
