I have been saying since the double attempt was announced that she was potentially giving up a near certain 5000m title. All she had to do here was follow the leader and kick.

Lol what? After her dismal performance in the 1500m what makes you think the 5000m would have been such a walk in the park? Maybe she would have won, but equally likely not.
This thread is pretty toxic. I don't know what it is about Tuohy that gets everybody so riled up. It doesn't seem like she's ever acted in any way that would warrant the ire. My personal opinion on what happened today is that she's probably been a little bit burnt since indoor where she was clearly in monstrous shape. That, combined with a REALLY strong 1500 field evened the odds. The 1500/5k double in hindsight seems like a really bad choice if she was feeling fatigued going in. If fatigue was the problem, scratching the 5k was the right coaching decision. The one thing I will say to the Tuohy haters though: She absolutely would have won that 5k if she hadn't tried to do the double. That much I pretty darn certain of.

It's not Tuohy. It's the "fans" like astro who make ridiculous excuses for her and denigrate other runners who dare challenge her dominance.

Hello?! It’s the fans this athlete has drawn, and turned this board into their little gloat troupe going back to last fall.

So the response to that is to say nasty things about the athlete? That is seriously f****d up.
Oh yeah? Well, I say your account name proves a level of idiocy evermore...
a name is just a name. Dumb uninformed posts say a lot. Another failure - The Millrose hs mile when she was even more of a favorite than she was today and finished 5th I think. Maybe think a little before you write something.....
You admonishing me is like a bum laying in the gutter, yelling at someone for standing on the sidewalk. Now pull yourself up by your imaginary bootstraps, take the loss like the man that your aren't, and have all the f*cks.

i feel like everyone is taking this as a given, but i dont think it is
she went out really hard in tough conditions and just couldn’t hold it together. Nobody with a brain thought the 1500 was gonna be an easy win for her.
with that said, none of us know what would have happened in the 5k and she didnt run so its irrelevant
I would assume the double was the athlete's idea as a potential grand hurrah before a pro contract but Henes should have stepped in front of that. She is a great coach, 1500/5 was an absolute pipe dream. Need to respect the NCAA.

This I agree with - Semi haze went way over the top. No doubt the response will be that I did too and to that I will say please show me a post by me that is over the top on Tuohy. BTW Semi haze blocked me from the IG account because I had the audacity to point out he (she?) might be a problem.

She's a great person. Humble, but confident. Very consistent. Seems to love the grind.
The issue is that her most fervent supporters are absolutely insufferable. To the point many of us can't help but root against Tuohy just so her insane fans will stfu.
Astro has been one of the worst offenders for a very long time now. Like Rojo, I suspect a lot of posters downvote what he writes before even reading it and despite whether they agree with his thoughts.

ha ha I just have this thing about pointing out factual errors by apparent idiots!

What did I say that was nasty? She didn't run well today, that's just the truth. Astro blathering on about how easy it would have been for her to win the 5000m is disrespectful to the actual winner (who he has venomously and endlessly accused of doping might I add).
