As a general practice, the length of a male’s inseam should increase proportionally with age.
High school and college runners can run in anything. After college, strike a balance between a more casual look and save the 2” split shorts and no shirt for workouts in the summer.
When you reach your mid 30s, keep an open mind and don’t be afraid to occasionally wear what “the kids” are wearing, but please begin to consider your age. 2” shorts and no shirt is a tough look to pull off as a middle aged man when you are doing an easy run.
But why should they worry about what you think of them?
Crap tops: I bet they prevent chafing. So I don't care. But I will say it looks kind of dopey to wear a crop top and long, baggy shorts. Rock the shorter half tights or buns if you're of either gender and rocking the crop top. That's just my opinion, but I'm not the fashion police.
No tights half or full length, should be worn by males if they don't have shorts over them. I have and will never run in just tights.
I agree 100%. When I was in high school in the 90s, it as standard protocol that if you wore tights, you had to wear running shorts over them so that nobody had to see the outline of your balls in the tights. This was considered to common courtesy.

If a simple piece of human anatomy triggers you that much, then I'd recommend not staring at the crotch. "Is that a barely visible outline of a human penis?!?!?! OH MY GOD I'M GOING INSANE!!!!!!"
