Well if FloTrack didn't buy the Australian rights I'd have watched it on olympics.com without a VPN like all the other countries that didn't buy the rights.
I have no idea if flocasts makes money or not. I mean Allbirds loses a ton of money but to act like the goal to get rich wasn't their plan is absurd. They've taken in at least 80 million in VC funding and one of the co-founding brothers was canned.
Thank god i don't have funding. Barring a criminal complaint of something SERIOUS, there is no way I'd ever fire my own blood or let him be fired.
https://www.fightful.com/report-ceo-flosports-stepping-away-company[i] Editor's note" We changed the title of this thread. It was initially entitled, "FloBro #1 Gone...uh oh" [/u]
PS. If flotrack is smart, they are quietly raking it in without telling anyone. I remember meeting a super rich dude once who refused to do interviews. Why? He didn't want other smart people to realize how much cash he was making as he'd have competitors.
FloSports will get a new HQ. Austin-based FloSports is a digital streaming service for live sports. The company announced it signed a four-year lease for new headquarters in downtown Austin. The 40,000-square-foot space will span across two floors at 301 Congress Ave. The space will include plenty of conference rooms and amenities such as a gym and coffee bar. FloSports will to hold onto its current location at 979 Springdale Road and plans to hire more than 100 people throughout the year. [Austin Business Journal]
PPS. ONe of my best friends is a college guidance counselor. Parnets will spend big $$$ on their kids. It's almost impossible to lose money on charging parents. I just wish they'd leave the legit pro races off their channel.
The Austin tech scene is starting the month of strong with funding rounds and acquisitions. Read on for the latest. This is the Built In Austin weekly refresh.
FloSports Inc. is asking a Massachusetts federal judge to toss a proposed class action that accuses the Texas-based sports streaming company of illegally passing along its users' data to Facebook, saying the case lacks merit.
Best part is they don't even have the replay on their app so you are forced to watch it on YouTube where they get the ad money even though you paid the subscription

They’re definitely making money. On their YouTube channel alone, all you have to do is calculate the # of views they have and multiply by $3 to $5 per 1,000 views (that’s on the LOW end of Adsense revenue from their videos just on that platform).
Then, you take their main platform (FloSports) and figure they’re subscription-based on multiple channels for multiple sports and you can almost literally SEE the money.

I only did because I knew someone running a pro race and it was on Flo Track. The coverage sucked. The video sucked, kept stopping and going out. The announcer sucked.
They should just offer refunds and start from scratch.
Also- I want to see the London Marathon.
I hope the whole race becomes available on youtube soon.
Or maybe letsrun can find a link and make it available?
It still exists in the District of Massachusetts, No. 22-cv-11502. After Flo Sports filed a motion to dismiss, and the plaintiffs filed an amended class action complaint, the case is now stayed pending the parties completing formal meditation.
are there any videos that actually show hassan stopping to stretch?
The whole race is on You Tube it shows her stopping both times.
It was actually a great decision by the film crew to follow Hassan the whole race, even after she fell back. Usually if a favorite falls back, they film it for 30 seconds and then go back to the leaders. They deserve credit for that great production.
Even though I canceled my subscription a few days ago, my last payment still carries me through into May. So, I’m watching the Penn Relays on FloTrack. (Last year they did AWESOME with this meet).
And; of course, there seems to be issues again.
Is FloTrack’s coverage LIVE of the Penn Relays right now “fuzzy” for anyone else? As if the rain drops are ON the camera lense? Audio seems good, but can hardly actually SEE what’s going on.
WAY too many technical issues when you’re paying over $30/month. I was really happy with how they covered the 2022 Penn Relays. But it’s been absolutely abhorrent since then.
The London Marathon coverage was the last straw for me. 1 hour and 10 minutes later after technical issues started and it’s STILL not on. As I mentioned on a previous thread, imagine if during the SuperBowl just suddenly coverage stopped. The teams are scoring left and right, all kinds of excitement happening, but you didn’t see ANY of it because of technical issues. That would; of course, never happen.
I’ve canceled my multi-year subscription history with FloSports.
A few weeks now after canceling and it was nice not having that $30+ taken out of my account. Don’t even miss it! (I actually thought I’d be missing the content they DID come through with, but I don’t!).
