This thread was originally titled, "Incredible development in the $612,000 Transcon Goodge run, currently ongoing" but the new title is more descriptive. The description of the run is here.
Does he have a preplanned route that we can look at in advance? This was helpful in the Rob Young fraud because we could see where he would be and have people to observe.
It is hard to root against someone with an interesting name like Goodge, so if this guy is up to something, I kind of hope he gets away with it.

HEART-RATE REPORT OF WILLIAM GOODGE DAY 16 TRANSCON, APRIL 17, 2023
Some examples of this sequence of physiologically impossible running include a 6:30K at 112 and a 6:04 at 116. In total, for those last 34 miles he runs between 100-130 28 times, and 100-120 19 times.
Note, when running with clean data for the first 6 miles he ran between 131-157, and then between 13-18 when his data was also clean, his range was 139-154. A very similar range, although clearly fatiguing compared to the opening part of the day.
For clarification, in case I have missed it elsewhere, what exactly is 'clean/dirty HR data"...is it purely based on speed vs HR allowing for conditions, distance into run etc, or is it more than that
how is it that Pete Kostelnick could manage a transcon that was easy to follow and track with readily available data that made sense when these Brits make it seem like an impossible task?

There's nothing "harmless" about committing the athletic version of Stolen Valor, and falsely taking credit for bettering the accomplishments of legitimate athletes, in this case the great Bruce Tulloh.

Hint: it's much easier to provide reliable tracking and data that makes sense when you're actually doing the thing legitimately
Three pieces of news: WG has filed a day of clean data! It took an awful lot of effort this past week, but finally they have put together a run that is not physiologically impossible, even if he has had to pay a hefty charge in distance. 89K in 10:51 has now become a far more palatable 76.8 in 10:58. His 19k splits were:
2:23 2:31 2:46 3:21
Now THIS is what multiday running is supposed to look like. I commend WG for gutsing it out, but unfortunately the run came a day too late, and I have issued the letter of complaint about his actions to Nucalm, RepresentClo, Puresport, Whoop & Macmillan.
Finally, I have revisited day 2 as this honest day has shone more light on its strange numbers. It turns out I was too benevolent as some 25 of its Kms are clearly irregular. This means that days 1 and 17 of this run are now clean. So WG has "lost one, gained one", for the day.
yes simply put of course I allow for topography and distance travelled. Clean is likely, credible and possible. Unclean is unlikely and indeed impossible. Sometimes people squeal that could do a certain time at a certain heart-rate, and I say when, and they speak of a 5k run in the park the day before. I am talking about runs of 50k+, usually in a multiday.
Here are six examples of km splits and heart rate. Three are clean, three are unclean. Can you tell which are which?
Motive throughout has been drawing attention to himself and his brands, getting lots of glory and media coverage, calling himself a world record holder for the 48/30, hopefully now being the fastest Englishman of all time, and here's there's a GoFund me goal of half a million big ones.
There are half a dozen ways for the data to turn out like this out in the desert, but using the watch as a 4-6 man relay is certainly one. And riding the van slowly for 750m and then jogging the last 250 is another, as this keeps the heart rate up. Rinse and repeat.
But there really are plenty of ways to skin the cat.
Hi again. I can find no data for the Balenger speed project but maybe I have to formally follow him or something, but I have no real concerns about it. The speeds are extremely anodyne.
For instance he travels for 63k at 10:47/k, wheras Goodge is finding 85k at 6:59! And Robbie is the much more serious runner.
He does speed up lots later, but without being able to see his splits I can't say.

Good work. Like Robert Young, we should see this dude quickly unravel.
Fundamentally, Goodge et al are trying to set a world record where the data being presented to the audience is the absolute bedrock of what you're doing. Except they have decided to not use the event-standard equipment and instead want you to believe Strava data and edited videos. When questioned about some of that data not being accurate, they are attacking anyone doing so, rather than providing the event-standard data that most other legitimate attempts use.
To be fair Mickey, they're shooting for the British record, not the WR. Tulloh was only the European champion and a late 28 minute man, so this guy feels more comfy in that wheelhouse.
He says he's not good enough to take down Kostelnick, but "if I was cheating, that's who I would go after." Well, they painted the entire side of their van with "Fastest Englishman of all time" which is a bold statement for a 3:06 marathoner, but they're clearly now locked into that pace.
Between a rock and a hard place now. They've returned a clean day, I've commended them on it. No WAY can they now go back to 110s. But the clean day rendered him incapable of speech, which is great because he couldn't call me a maggot again, and his Insta vids are now funereal.
An absolutely fascinating sociological story into the modern day age of influencing, pyramid selling, fake acclaim and achievement, the murkiness that GoFundMe can attract, and the social media age.
I had a long interview with Netflix a month ago about exactly this sort of thing [after my horrors with the fake Jogle record]. They wrote to me today: "Hi Will, Really interesting - are you free tomorrow perhaps for a call?"
So WG could be a Netflix sensation after all...

young is/was the harmless soul as far as i could see. just a bit of an idiot, in above his head. a lot of the discussion at the time reflected this and lots of people were trying to be relatively kind; just wanted him to stop the charade.
goodge seems like a privileged poseur who wants to be told he's special and not questioned. looking forward to seeing him unravel in the coming days.
You're doing great work Will. You've obviously got the guy cold. I'm guessing that around this point, he is thinking about faking an injury as a way out. He knows that he physically cannot do it, and he knows that the scrutiny will only increase if he continues to run.

He is a 3:06 marathon man but it looks like he's not actually that slow. 25 April 2021 he posted a 42.18km run ("virtual marathon") on Strava - nearly there Will, why did you stop? - which took him 2:50:00.
So I think he's more of a 2:50 man but his ego/lack of discipline ruins him in races and he tries to outrun his actual ability and then crashes outside 3 hours with a slow second half.
Course 2:50 is still barely a club effort and he's patently not capable of outdoing Tulloh. Unless NuCalm really is magic.
