Very nice!--but some old farts are going to remember Jim Ryun's running 3:39 at the end of his junior year, a few weeks past his 17th birthday. It made him history's 10th fastest 1500 runner at the time.

So we are going to compare every 1500m mark against one of the greatest achievements of all time?
I dont care about the times so much these days. When these modern superstars start beating the defending Olympic Champions in anything while producing national records, then Ill get my hopes up for the future of American distance running from a hs athlete.
Lyles, Syd etc were showing more promise in 2016 than these NP guys relative to our distance runners. Tell me there arent 50 Africans 18 and under that cant beat these guys on any given day.
As it is, Ill cheer for our top American hopes like Fisher, Nuguse et al. No doubt these kids are fast but theyve all been beaten. What's exciting is the depth of quality at hs level. You will no doubt see late bloomers that were just off the front while in hs. Some will dissapear.
