There are many people who have not raced for a long time. But what is critical is that they must, by implication, glorify Keely (British), their representative, by vilifying Mu (American), who presents a direct existential and subjective threat by manipulating truth and perception as their ego survival relative to the planet, Universe and nature depends on it.
Lindsey Sharp being bitter? Of all the things to be bitter about, this surely this is about the most reasonable one?
The two people who suffered the most during the "we've got no idea what woman is era" would surely be Melanie Bishop and Ajee Wilson. It really is outrageous what they were put through.
Sharp probably wouldn't have won a medal anyway. But like any other woman she deserved to take part in a fair competition against other women. And not the absolute travesty we were presented with.

I will withold judgment until outdoors. Indoors to me is always a bit of an 'optional' season, no harm in training through it.
I have had the thought that, if I were mu, i wonder if i'd be able to stay motivated. There is almost nothing new for her to accomplish still on the table after just a year and a half as a pro. I guess if she wants to go all in on chasing the (doped) WR that could be a carrot on a string. I do think it's good the keely is running well as it would still be a challenge for her to win worlds
Please lighten up on Athing. Two years ago she endured one of the longest season running indoor campaign & NCAA indoors, outdoor campaign & NCAA Outdoors, Olympic Trials won all of them and became Olympic Champion. The next year she went on to win World 800m title and for the first year ever not improve on her 800,m personal best.
She stated in an article last month she was fore going indoors to focus on the most important campaign to her:. Outdoors and Worlds. Give her a break she been going non stop indoors and outdoors for years. Yes indoors is fun but the most important season in track and field is outdoors.
Also somewhat crazy the guy who ran 3:28.x for the 1500 never had the interest to try to chase a 3K/5K mark...
My guess is it would pierce his aura of invincibility if he went after a fast time and blew up or lost the race. People used to be so deferential to Mo, he pretty much did whatever he wanted over the final 800m of the race. Gebremeskel and crew ran 12:46 in Paris 2012 with a 54 second last lap, and then spent the next 5 years jogging while a 3:28 guy sat on their shoulders til 600 to go. They were terrified of him and were running for 2nd.
Thats why I have tremendous respect for Jakob. No fear of anyone, he goes to the front of every DL and says come and catch me.
I wish Jakob and Mo’s prime overlapped, those would have been some fun championship 5k showdowns

That could have been an excuse last year, but the Olympics were 2021. Bryce hoppel had a similar 2019 season being undefeated all college season until the Olympic trials and kept the ball rolling every season since then. It’s most likely a mix of Athing and her coach though.

Yes, but one big difference is Hoppel has stayed in Kansas and continues to train with his college coach. Mu has an entirely new setup.
This article gives some useful insights into her thinking:
Three years have passed since Athing Mu was last beaten in an 800-meter race. In that time, she's been crowned American champion, Olympic champion and world champion in the distance -- all before the age of 21.
"I've moved on to this new environment [in LA], new training, new coach -- it's a lot to adjust to. I'm just taking it slow -- day by day, practice by practice, meet by meet -- and seeing where this year takes me."

A USC Track Babe currently has a speaking role on LA TV commercials. Athing, Syd, Jenna, Gianna, Keni want one of those gigs. SAG Union Rates for speaking Roles pays a ton in the gigantic LA Market.
