Ritzenhein himself said it wasn't that hard. I am not reinventing the wheel here.
And a session done six days before a race has very little bearing on the outcome of that race - really, it can only hurt if you do something too hard. Klecker's 12:54.99 was due to the consistent training the prior months and years. If you think a mile at essentially race pace then some easy threshold and 200s is the key workout that sealed the deal you have absolutely no understanding of training.
