NBC seriously needs to get a new crew for the distance races. There were a lot of mistakes in general, but the comment “he knew that he only had 200 laps to go” following the men’s 3000m just further empathized why it’s better to watch with the volume off.
Well let’s see what Kincaid can do. Not sure sub 7:30 is in the cards but hopefully he has another Monster kick.
Dominated that last lap yet again. He’s got the closing speed to be a world contender if he’s in striking range.
It doesn't really matter what he can run for 200/400, the best in the world don't leave it to the final lap. It's whether he has a 2:25 final km in him. Let's see what he can do in an international field before putting him on the podium

It's not a real mistake. He just misspoke. You knew what he meant. Kara seemed subdued today. You guys have beaten her down.
He just ran 4:08 mile pace for 3k you're just a negative person who doesn't have the facts
No excuses but he has shipped twice in two weeks albeit a short flight. And ran very hard last week kind of in no man’s land. I think he is 3;53 or better fitness wise…. Now does it all line up?
I thought folks would say I was looking for built in excuses. The above ..I typed wellbefore the race.
I wrote that prior to the race..that doesn't excuse a nightmare result....I had thought that shipping east twice piggy backing off a huge huge PR effort at 3K....ehhh..may not goas well as hoped. I do know the work, so I kind of know how fit he is or isn't. And Ron is very very rarely off by much on his assessments of that as well..I would say..he is most likely surprised by that. This was not a case of falling apart..he was never ever in it..and to me that indicates fatigue. But, as I also always have said " they all count"
Great performances from Bol and Lyles, but the rest of the meet was a bit of a letdown. Seems like all the New Balance shilling about how fast this track is didn't materialize. Expecting much better times next weekend at the Armory.

I think New balance wants their track to end up like BU’s but adding in the sprints and that corporate edge.

Call me crazy but I think the space is physically too big to run fast. BU is very small and intimate, the adrenaline really gets going with the chaos. Infield full of runners and coaches with fans 15 feet from the track banging on the glass, fans on the banks of the track slapping the surface - it’s an atmosphere that promotes going all in. The TRACK feels sterile and no different from Ocean Breeze, Penn State, or Texas A&M. Arkansas’s track is closer to BU in size and you’ve had some fast miles run there.

I was hoping they would show the mechanics of the bends while raising/lowering them, and where the banners went in the process. Anyone have a link for tracks that have this feature?
Anyone tracking the times in indoor track is insane. I think you can draw general conclusions though.
1. Woody, Muir, and Bol are in shape.
2. Hoppel isn’t.
3. The US now sucks in the mile.
My reaction. Yes to Woody and Bol and Hoppel. I didn't learn much from Muir running 8:40 for 3000. She ran 8:30 in August.
Nuguse might be the top US miler - let's see what he does next week. Luis (can we call him US?) might be next, but he is not a miler either. The other "top" ones have not had the best season so far. Let's see what happens at Millrose.
