Give me a break. This is the Houston Marathon, not a marathon major. We should be happy to have any coverage at all! I think that it is amazing that they have two camera vehicles! Thank you Houston marathon!
Women's HM 1) Hiwot Gebremaryam - 1:06:28 2) Emily Sisson - 1:06:52 (New AR -old AR was 1:07:11) 3) Jessica Warner-Scott - 1:07:19 4) Anna Dibaba - 1:09:22 5) Molly Huddle - 1:10:01
What a race by Huddle. Wasn't even in the top-10 at 10K and moved up to finish 5th.
When did she give birth? Sometime last spring or summer? Pretty impressive. I wonder if her goal is to give it one more go at the marathon trials next year and then call it a career.
Yeah, Sisson ran 66:52, Simpson ran 70:35, and Mantz ran 61:12. Only bad prediction was King Ches who ran 61:51
Stop with the “King” nonsense. Cheserek is a mediocre pro now. The Kings of the sport are Jakob, Cheptegei and Kipchoge. You disrespect them and make yourself look foolish by continuing to refer to Commoner Ches as royalty.
Serious question. Looking at the results, they have M (Male), F (Female), U, and X? What are U and X? I can see N for nonbinary but they don't have an N category. Is the nonbinary category divided into two different categories now? I noticed a runner who ran as "nonbinary" (born male, transitioned to female) at a previous race is listed under the X category. Could X be male to female and U be female to male?
More events are adding a third awards category (non-binary) and also adding a fourth “choose not to say” gender option at registration (which allows people to opt out of AG awards). I would guess these are those two, although I’m not sure which is which. And if that is what they are, I bet in future years the “choose not to say” category won’t get a leaderboard, as leaderboards seem like they should only be awards categories—lots of change, which means I bet we’ll see some improvement and different iterations going forward.
