Wow a city the size of Portland lost a whopping 2,300.
The remaining ~15,000 who left Oregon, left RURAL Oregon.
You're not helping yourself here.
Portland's downtown is declining. Same with San Francisco. Same with LA. The hobos are moving in, the wealthy are moving away. The financial implications of this are significant with tax revenues declining and demand for services increasing, it is creating a downward spiral that will be difficult to reverse.
By Oregon Small Business Association, The vacancy rate in Portland’s central business district hit 19.4 percent during the first quarter of 2021, while the city’s overall vacancy is 14.7 percent. But real estate officials exp...

Looks like TX, FL, GA, NC going blue for good then!
combination of proportionately high GOP Covid losses and outward migration from high population blue states will end up shifting things on the red/blue map
Of course you are. 100%. This is what this thread is about.
Do know how many people are looking for "a few blues state locations"?
ZERO
I live in Coeur a Alene. Trump took 73% of the vote here. Not because he is Trump but because he has a (R) after his name on the ballot.
My next door neighbor is a dem who put up signs for Biden. No one bothered him. We get along great. He has no idea what my politics are since there were no Trump signs in my neighborhood.
Looks like you are good neighbor.
They still selling Confederate flags up there at roadside stands in Northern Idaho? You know..as symbols of....'Southern Pride'
Libs: our states are an abysmal failure and people are leaving them en masse but it's somehow not our fault! Also anyone who points out these facts is like, really mean and bad.
"I am considering a move to a red state but politics are not involved."
This is because you are dumb!
"My Existing BLUE state is too expensive, has too much crime and too much homelessness and schools are the worst in the USA."
"But this has nothing to do with the democrats that I vote for that run my state"!!
"So I am moving to a RED state"
(of course you are, LOL).
This is spot on. The idea that people are relocated their entire lives for NO reason and not thinking about the leadership of the places their leaving/arriving at is beyond stupid. If this idea is true, then liberals are even dumber than I thought which I didn't know was possible.
Whatever, I’m just sad for you that you still carry the trauma of John Chaplin telling you to pound sand after 30+ years so you lash out like a coward in off-topic threads on a running message boards in the futile hope that it will finally make you feel like a man. I’m sure he seemed like a scary man but you don’t have to keep giving him that power over your self worth.

Pro tip: If you can't seem to manage the difference between "their" and "they're," it's probably best not to introduce a word like "stupid" into the discussion. Seems like poor strategy.

It already happened in Arizona. Thanks primarily to people moving to AZ from CA, the Grand Canyon State now has 2 Democratic Senators and a Democratic Governor! Libs for the win!
But California is warm and people are moving out by the thousands monthly?
So there goes your lazy and not well thought out response.
There are warm blue states but it seems like everyone is moving to the warm red states.
Hmmmmm...
The trouble with any of your hopes here is that one of two things are true, re: political leanings of the migrants.
(1) The migrants are conservatives who are moving, among other reasons, because they don’t like living in a blue state. You strengthen the conservatism of the red states but that doesn’t change anything, it just continues the past trend if these states electing Republicans.
(2) The migrants are typical liberal blue-staters who are moving for nonpolitical reasons and will continue to vote Democrat in their new state, weakening the conservatism of the red states and, on a long enough timescale, possibly causing the state to start electing Democrats.
Either way, not good for your interests. The thing is, people tend to believe in their idea of how government should be run, usually regardless of how well that party is doing/does in their state. Both parties hold to the standard idea if “our ideas are right, if we’re in power and things don’t go well it’s because the ideas weren’t implemented correctly or the other side obstructed us.” Migration doesn’t tell you anything about changes in peoples’ beliefs. Your best hope if you want to alter the political map in your favor is to convince solid red voters from safely red states to move to Wisconsin, Michigan, or other states that have been close to an even split lately. But that will not happen, because literally nobody picks up and moves with politics in mind - even the Libertarians who wanted to take over New Hampshire do their could be one yellow state haven’t succeeded.
I know conservatives like to look at this and say "See, people are fleeing Blue States for Red States." But consider that Trump won the large state of Texas by ~600k votes. If those ~470k Blue Staters who moved to TX are Blue Voters, then it looks like the state will be Blue by the 2024 election.
Texas is projected to be blue by 2026-28
If I'm looking at the numbers they tell me that the population is aging. The elderly are not fond of cold temps.
Hadn’t the left laughed at how TX was so cold that its power got knocked out?
People are moving out of blue states en masse because democrats turn everything they touch into a pile of crap. Seattle Washington is a third world country. So is Portland Oregon.
Two former beautiful cities that have been totally destroyed by 100% democrat rule.
“let’s not prosecute any petty crimes of theft if the value is under $900”
The American Growth Project by the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, a business policy think tank, found most of the cities are away from the East Coast.
