Exactly Aaron may be able to split a 48ish this year if he gets faster sprinting wise on the 4x4, but for the open 4 I just don't see him cracking 49 which will limit his 800m this year.
I never saw anybody go up those last hills so fast. Huge bounce and power in his step.
Earlier in the race one of the commentators stated Lil S was attacking the hills like the Allies on D-Day. When Lil S attacked that hill he looked like one of the Marvel Characters. He when by that group so quickly it didn’t look real, but it was.
Not very class of you to try and incite something like this - he put #aaroncheated on a story of them doing a pie eating contest with new gen the night after.
Yeah, nobody had him winning. If someone says they did they're full of it. I thought 3rd was possible on a good day but I thought top ten was more realistic. Fooled me and everyone else.
I’m with anyone who picked Aaron to win. He didn’t fool anyone. Picking Aaron to win was like picking Brazil to make it out of group play.
I called this almost a year ago:
A big dummy wrote:
When the story is all told, Aaron Sahlman will be the one that is remembered from the 2019-2023 NP era. He is the Jakob of the group. Best raw speed of them all, which makes his ceiling the highest. Nico, Colin, Lex, and Leo will one day be referred to as “Teammates of the legendary Aaron Sahlman at Newbury Park.”
Aaron has been the 3rd or 4th best on his own team for the last 2 years, and you predicted him to win?
Yes. It’s a championship foot race and in my mind he was the fastest guy entered. Ergo, he was my pick to win it.
Anyone that says they picked Aaron to win is flat out lying. Obviously a fantastic runner, but dude has never won an XC race in his life before NXN. He was consistently 15 seconds back from the Twins
