Scott is a second tier professional marathoner. He will never be in the top 3.

The most consistent American marathoner by far.
He did it again and glad he's now with Nike.
Got to be #1 on list to make 2024 Olympic team.
Mantz is the favorite for the trials in 24. in his first marathon, he beat Fauble's PR. Fauble definitely has a solid shot but is by no means the favorite.

So yes, the idea for you was to take a shot. Explain how being the top American finisher in a major US marathon will do far more to hurt him than help him and how he'd have been better off doing a training run. And Fischer, Ward, Korir, did they hurt themselves more than they helped themselves? Should they all have just done a training run instead?

Consistent at what? He sucks.
Both his Sub-2:10 Marathons were Boston (not Course Eligible) and The Chandler Project (Some Race that was put together for Sara Hall and was extremely aided).
Otherwise his "consistency" was 2:12 Marathons.
Even then. His only mild performance was his 1:01 Half in Houston last year.
Anything under like 1500-10,000. He would take L's even with Collegiates and some High Schoolers.
