Des back to the front!
Des back to the front!
Non-binary runners should start after all other runners finish so they can have the course all to themselves. Best that way to showcase their courage.
Try the youtube link posted above. Good coverage.
Des pushing off the front. Not the couple foot gap that Frisbe was holding, this looks sizeable. Funny that no one is going with her. Isn't this how she won Boston?
The official app only shows the top 5 in any leaderboard. Is there a way to see the entire elite field on the live splits??? I don’t really want to enter everyone into the live tracking portion of the app, the leaderboard should be able to add everyone and have a scroll
Whats the full story on why some group of runners started before the pro women? Some sort of VIP thing? Seems silly

Looks like another Top 15 for Des...or a DNF

Most all the runners who need guides get a good 20 minute head start

I disagree.
I hope they will have an early start next year so they get much needed media exposure. Just like the wheelchair people.
Eurosport just reported a 4:20 second mile for the Brazilian M leader???
Do Nascimento ~30 seconds off the front at 5k at 14:31.
Des still charging way off the front.
The early starters are charity runners of some kind I think.
Brasil for the win !
Not sure about the app but if you go to the NYC site and click on "Leaders" you can see the men, women, US men, US women, wheelchair, etc.
Men in purple and silver hair can't win big 'Thons.
Chavez claiming a 4:20 split for this leaders last mile! Anderson says he's toast later. Spicy indeed.
Chris Chavez with his broadcast debut (sounded pretty decent) said the same thing, though he didn't mention specifically the two-mile mark.
Des not on leader board? But isn't she leading?
nvm
Super quick early pace by Daniel Do Nascimento. He split 14:31 for the first 5k to get a 28-second lead and that lead is only growing right now.
There are 3 main packs right now in the men's race.
Do Nascimento (14:31 5k)
Chase 1 (15:02 5k): 14 guys including Rupp, Kipchirchir, Leonard Korir
Chase 2 (15:22 5k): 9 guys including Fauble, Hehir, Ward, Abdirahman
Leader running sub 2:03 pace. He’s put a half minute on the field already!
I think he’s wearing ADIDAS!
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
