I want to make it clear even partial to Southlake that I think Flower Mound girls are the team to beat. their top 3 are amazing and we have to assume they have reloaded strong until we know better. they killed last year, ranked #1 in the preseason, Southlake hasn’t done anything yet.
I wonder how much of a chance the team that gets 3rd at NXR South gets an at-large.
Jesuit LA will be top 3 at NXN based on their 3200 times they had last spring.
Southlake Carroll is probably gonna be top 10 or top 5.
They almost beat Grapevine at NXR. Based on that, I think 21st place at RunningLane is considered an underperformance for them.
California has 3 really good teams.
The Southwest region had sooo many teams in the top 15 at RunningLane. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are 2 at-larges in that region this year. Lots of good teams in this region again.
Northeast has some really good teams.
Midwest’s Center Grove and Carmel are really good and each got a transfer. Not sure if that means that another team will get an at-large from that region.
Well SLC returns their 1-6, and the depth on that team is out of this world. So if someone from SLC is injured, there will be someone else that’s gonna step up.
I’m actually curious where a team of SLC’s 8-14th runners would be ranked in comparison to 6A’s varsity teams. Let’s say Hill,Golomb,Fisher,Cantu,Alvarez,Troutman, and Freeman are their top 7 this year,
the seed times of their 8-14 guys are: Dylan Fisher (not in this race but 9:47 in the 3200 last spring) Severson - 9:39 seed Litwin - 9:39 seed Ortiz- 9:40 seed Reddy - 9:40 seed Leonard - 9:40 seed Bullard - 9:50 seed Van de berghe - 9:54 seed Jacob Freeman (I think he might go to SLC, idk) - 9:45 in the 3200 last spring
I can also see Ortiz making the top 7 by the end of the season (especially if one of the returners does not race due to injury) since Ortiz was in their top 7 last year and was their #3 at regions. I can also see R Freeman move up on the team. He was consistently their top 5 last year but didn’t do track. He was their #2 at regions.
my daughter in the Consolation heat beat these Flower Mound girls in the Championship heat, the final (+) number is how much slower they ran than their entry time.
