This must have been a pleasant watch for Jakob, minus the concern that McSweyn doesn't look in the shape to rabbit some fast 1500's.
If Cheruiyot and Kipsang keeps their cool and doesn’t rabbit Jakob in worlds the event gets more open. I dont think Jakob is nearly as confident if he has to take it out himself.

Agreed. If it is a fast and smooth race I think Jakob has a good chance, however if they come to a stand still in third round its a toss up, I think. Unless Jakob is in monster shape and can sprint from 1100m or before.
Anyone see what happened to Nadia Battocletti in the five? At around lap nine she was visible inside the rail curled up in a ball and remained there through the end of the race, but I could not see if she got tripped up or walked off.
It was a pretty mediocre DL on the track but the field events were pretty great (men’s high jump excluded, which was a letdown after a really fun one in Doha)
In a laned event, why not just let everyone run? Just remove him from the prize money.
Was a real disappointment that they didn't just let him run, they must have paid a good appearance fee for him and rules meant everyone goes home unhappy. He hung around for the relays at the end and my son got to meet him which was pretty cool.
