Don't know where you get your information, but published estimates are much higher than what you are proposing.

There are also some people who have symptoms from many months that eventually resolve -- who knows what the long-term consequences might be.

I've had pulmonary issues since getting COVID in June 2022. Docs are saying I have asthma; after 50+ years of running with no symptoms, I'm saying it is long covid. Mileage is down, I feel like crap, I'm using an inhaler. Evidently no lung scarring, per CT, but lung function is clearly impaired.
