Does anyone know if they are lengthening the John Hunt course to make it 5K, or are they keeping it short like last year?

If that would happen they wouldn't be able to advertise as the "fastest" course in the country.
I think we will need to wait for the track to get truly accurate times on these kids.
I ran it today. It’s not short.

What did you get for the distance?
Are they going to pack it with the steamroller again?

Hard to know. NXN will be 3 years old next year meaning that nearly no national caliber kids will have ever competed in it. Runninglane will have have all of the national class teams this year and thousands of kids will also watch the meet. I went last year but don't plan to go this year. But if I was taking a team this year, I would feel a sense of appreciation and almost obligation next year even if NXN reappears. This will be the most competitive high school cross country meet of all time because there is no qualification. Some of the NXR regions are so strong that national caliber kids and teams get eliminated in the regionals that are better than qualifying teams and individuals from weak regions. They can all show up at Runninglane this year.
NIKE: "NXN is back for 2022 and better than ever! Fly to Portland and get treated like gods and goddesses! Meet Olympic medalists and world class runners! Tour our newly expanded and ultra cool campus! See how the best gear in the world is made! Even better, we'll outfit all of you with a stupid amount of FREE exclusive NIKE swag and your family can go nuts buying heavily discounted stuff at the famous Beaverton Company Store! Run in front of thousands of cheering and passionate fans! If that's not enough, we will throw a super fun celebration party after the race! This will be THE highlight of your high school career!!!"
RunningLane: "Hey, y'all! Get yourself down to 'Bama on your own dime. We got a fast course and if y'all win you get a pretty nifty bag and a team trophy. Everybody else gonna' get a beanie hat and some gloves. You'll get some cheers from your parents on the course but, not many locals will show up on account of the SEC Championship being on TV and The Tide is playin'. Plus, we got some good BBQ joints down here and your kin folk can go to the rocket museum. Yee hah!"

You don't think Saratoga's or Fayetteville's girls are national-class teams?
Congratulations on outing yourself as an imbecile.

If you're so smart and the Southern folks are so dumb, then why do you put that apostrophe after "gonna?"
Last year, the silver race was won in 15:55
This year, the Blue race was won in 15:53 and the Bronze race was won in 15:29 (53 guys sub 16)
Pretty sure the silver race will go sub 15
Thought the same thing. Is it just me or is the audio way behind and the feed quality is terrible.
On the girl side, there was only a gold race last year.
Today, winner of Bronze race would have been 44th in last year’s gold race. Winner of silver race today would have been 13th in the gold race last year (17:43)
Massive depth improvement for this competition

It’s Braden King. He was just a few tenth behind NP #6 guy at CIS
However, 30 guys split sub 4:45
Braden King takes the W in 14:50.52

That would have put him 20th last year
Given that he ran 15:15 at California State (49s slower than Colin). Will we see a sub 14 today?
Silver race: 6 guys under 15 min., 146 under 16 min.
