I think the truck repair business is okay:
While other people are driving by broken down trucks on the side of the road thinking "I wonder if I could help that trucker out..." Webb is out there actually helping truckers fix their broken down trucks.
It's interesting to watch the old Alan Webb Cribs thing, then compare that to him today. A very changed man.

Very true. I have a hard time reconciling the current Webb with how I remember him from back then.
Also does it seem bizarre that the family is continuing to live in Arkansas so Alan can coach at a random high school while they apparently still have a truck repair buisness in Portland.
Also owning a mobile truck repair business as two formerly elite runners with zero background in car mechanics or trucking is simply the most random business venture I have ever heard of.
Good for Webb... there is no gift greater in life then to walk your own path in your own way of truth to your convictions.
Passion is for the person to understand not the group watching to have answers for.
somehow this has become the most reasonable thread i've ever seen on LRC

We are all called to be saints- doesn't take a miracle to become a saint, not in Catholic church. Anyone who reaches heaven is a saint. The Saints that we know today are just individuals that did lead extraordinary lives and yes, have miracles associated with their lives. I pray that Alan does reach heaven, and maybe he will be the Patron Saint of runners someday, who knows. We could all use more praying and prayers these days, don't you think. Good on Alan for standing up for his faith in God, a traditional Catholic faith. Much of the Church here in the US has gone left, just like the politics around the country. Read the Catechism, what Alan preaches are true beliefs of the Catholic Church. God Bless Alan and Godspeed.
Amen Ackley!

I feel like Alan’s life will only become more peculiar, and perhaps not in a good way. He’s so erratic, simple, and impressionable that really nothing would surprise me.
How has no one mentioned that him and his wife both appear to be 30 years older than they are? They may be aliens amongst us.

I've wondered about that, too. Do they have a partner who manages the business? Or, do they have a salaried manager, who handles the day to day and only bothers them with big decisions/major purchases? I always thought that once they left Oregon the truck business was more of an investment entity for them, than it was an actual job.
It is definitely random, but seems like a good investment that required a lot of up front capitol in a fleet.
The Webbs are millionaires. The people on this site who are questioning their design making abilities, are not millionaires. This is typical Letsrun mentality.
