Given that Kitata has dropped. I would put Desisa, Hawkins or Rupp for bronze. All running sensibly, in different preferred locations around the front group.

Spanish Moroccan, Lamdassem, also prominent. He’s 40 years old....thereabouts....he ran 2:06+ in Valencia last year
This lead pack us small! Rupp still up there
Three Moroccans prominent close to the front with the great one above, Allah, watching over them
Jack Rayner dropped too
How is Suarez still up there? Will be impressed if he stays at the front to half
2:09:40 pace through 15k
DO NOT expect the Ethiopians to be in the shake up
The EAF and the Olympic selection committee had a massive fight.
The athlets they took to Tokyo are not good enough. The better athlets have been left at home.
5,000 record holder Gedey was made to run the 10k when she should have been in the 4k
800 Ethiopian champion Werkwuha Getache who ran 1.56 was left and those that run slower in the trials were taken to tokeyo,
We only had 1 guy in the final of the 5k mens. He finished no where. We know Mukrat Idris, Solomon Baraga , Hagos Gebrehiwot and even Yomif are better 5k than the crap they put in the line up.
Due to the political situation, a sabotage has been carried out for Ethiopia not to take the lime lite.
The USA is supporting terrorist TPLF and the country is on the very of disintegration.
Ethiopia is being made the next Libya, Siria and Yemen. Sad fact
Why? Rupp is already looking tired 2:09 in the trials is not going to translate well in this field.
33 still up front. Kipchoge joking with Brazilian at the front.
Lemma out now!!
what did i tell you?
the Brazilian (Nascimento) out - maybe heatstroke?
Do we think Desisa drops - all 3 Ethiopians?? another 5-10k could be telling
I predict a slow 2:05’ish winning time. EK is the favorite as there is no reason to think otherwise (London’20 being an anomaly), but Cherono and Kitata are high probability medalers.
Rupp has an outside chance, as do Kipruto and Desisa.
Kitata is out
Kitata long gone, unfortunately...
Rupp in a good place, but a Kenyan podium sweep is not impossible

I think it'll be a boring win for kipchoge, nothing dramatic, but enough to take the gold. I suspect Bashir Abdi may go top 3 (he already did well in races in Japan, he seems really versatile and it's an opportunity for him to shine), and Rupp may finish top 15.
Ok.. not as boring as I expected, but kipchoge first (but still enough for him to snag a gold), and a top three shot for abdi, still looks real .
On the nail. But totally didn't expect the dutchy for silver.
My justification for Bashir Abdi finishing top 3 was his attitude, he's always positive, always lifting his teammates. His last big event before the olympics was pacing farah to help him qualify for the olympics (I think being a pacer always help to translate to wins), but he also had a 204, and his last marathon was Tokyo where he finished 2nd in 204. It's a good base for the olympics.
I thought Kipchoge was over the hill after his London defeat.
The guy is 36, for heaven's sake.
I had Kipchoge picked to win in the prediction contest but then I changed my picks at the last minute when John said on the podcast that Kipchoge was not healthy (banged up). It's John's fault I lost the prediction contest .
