Sorry, but your splitting hairs. Jumping through loopholes of the guidelines and skirting the recommendations from the health department is not cool. Your playing semantics in order to fit your agenda, and so is Coach B. He clearly has his own political views of what he thinks is right or wrong. No argument from me, I don't agree with some of the guidelines/regulations either, but that doesn't mean he can push his beliefs on to others (young athletes he coaches) and their parents and go "Rogue". Also, he's not making any friends among other elite California high school coaches who are following the recommended guidelines and trying their best to train and compete under the current restrictions. Competing unattached doesn't make it right, nor fair to other athletes and coaches. If you don't agree with the state of California then move! Jumping back and forth between states isn't ethical.
Sorry!
What a whiny snowflake post. Nobody forced any athlete to travel and compete in these meets as unattached runners, yet elite runners from across the entire US, not just CA attended meets in AZ. Can you please provide the evidence where even one of these athletes caught and/or passed Covid to someone else much less that these meets were super spreader evenst. The damage that is being done to kids in the name of "protecting them over an abundance of caution" is criminal.
