And on the women's side, Schweizer and Houlihan are capable of medalling in 1500-10k but they couldn't make top 7 on a decent college team.

Might be apples to oranges here but it’s somewhat similar to why people care more about the NBA opposed to the WNBA
I understand it in basketball but I think women’s distance running is more spectacular than the men. The gap in athleticism is less between genders than between born in East Africa v elsewhere, IMO.
Idk I mean why watch a guy run 1300 when you can watch a girl run 1530 and close in an astonishing 68

Rojo, I am assessing the top 10000 women’s field here to get a top 5. I’ll have it done soon after the Delhi half tomorrow.
I am about half way through and so far Brenda Flores of Mexico ahead of Elaina Tabb then Kellyn Taylor and Laura Thweatt. The other half may change things. Alia Gray among them as well.
Finished: Flores, Pagano, Tabb, Taylor, Natosha Rogers, and you cant rule out D'Amato

Classic Rojo.
Remember the time that wejo misspelled "misspell?" Or the time that rojo made three spelling errors in a four letter word? Good times.
A misogynistic thread on Letsrun? I'm shocked.

Amazing meet.
It looks like they dropped every single name on this list. It almost looks made up, that’s how good it is.[/quote
It's official. I must be getting old and cynical.
You type this exciting post and yet as I'm looking at these heats I'm thinking, "I definitely have never even heard of half of the guys in sub-13:30 heat. What about the sub-13:15 heat? We've got a big thread hyping a guy for running in the B heat of a race?"
Before I go too negative, I think it's an amazing thing that his race is scheduled and taking place. Kudos to the organizers and to the Internet for making this possible 25 years ago, this thing wouldn't exist.
But it's the year 2020, 13:30 is no longer a great time. I spent about 20 minutes trying to find the PRs of the guys listed in the sub-13:30 and sub 13:15 races. In the sub 13:30 race, I see one guy with a PB under 13:40. No one has broken 13:30. So if I"m Vegas, I put the over under of # of sub-13:30s in that race at 1.5.
For the sub-13:15 race, similarly, no one in hte field has broken 13:30 and only 1 has broken 13:20. Vegas would put the over under of # of sub 13:15s at 1.5 as well.

Give it a break, unless you're going to figure out a way to keep our hospitals from overflowing? Yeah, I didn't think so.
This is a running site. We are interested in running.

That what being a fan is about!
So Nico is there! Race started...
Curious how he does against Casey Clinger!
Clinger beat out Nico... BUT, both of them set new PR's! WOW! Sub 13:50's!

Literally nothing that simp Governor has done has or us preventing anything like he claims.
Not so wow when you see what Hocker did.
Two Wisconsin red-shirt freshmen, Sharp (AUS) and Meijer (UK) both ran faster than Nico, one in the same race. Sharp won the Under 13:45 race in 13:44.00 while Meijer edged Nico 13:44.17 to 13:44.50.
Reading between the lines of what Nico said after the race it seemed he missed some training this Fall.
Is Nico is the fastest 13:44 runner in history?
So Nico is behind other freshmen and way behind sophomores.
Sometimes it seems like Cooper Teare is not that good BUT…
