Wow. The distance to the moon is probably one of the least problematic parts of the Apollo missions. Do you know what a logical fallacy is? But hey, I get it. I'm sure that's a very big scary number for you. It's so impossibly far it's beyond what you can believe. I'm sorry you got so frightened.
We live in an age where people can't except that there are things that experts in a field will understand better than them, if they are even able to fully understand it at all. But, they would prefer to believe a conspiracy theory rather than to feel inferior and admit others may know more, or be more intelligent etc. It's just so pathetic and weak.
Really? You know this how exactly? You talk about "experts in a field" - as you are one of them why don't you explain why it's probably one of the least problematic parts.
Btw I do find it hilarious that you think it's not a big deal considering the furthest you personally could travel right now in your existence is 9500 miles on a flight from Singapore to New York. So the simple answer is (and let me not fill up my post with deflective bullsh$t about "scary numbers" and what's "pathetic and weak") - you simply would have no f-ing idea.
It's a lot less energy than you are assuming. It's hard to argue with someone that simply cant "grok" basic orbital mechanics:
In astronautics, the Hohmann transfer orbit () is an orbital maneuver used to transfer a spacecraft between two orbits of different altitudes around a central body. Examples would be used for travel between low Earth orbit an...
A trans-lunar injection (TLI) is a propulsive maneuver used to set a spacecraft on a trajectory that will cause it to arrive at the Moon. History The first space probe to attempt TLI was the Soviet Union's Luna 1 on January 2...
It would take more energy and be significantly more difficult to travel 1/5th of the way to the moon, turn around, and come back; than to go to the moon and return.
You're correct. However, that fact is totally arbitrary and has no bearing on the feasibility of the trip. There is precious little in between 245mi out and 238646mi out that would interest a manned mission
Well no, fact's [sic] aren't arbitrary - they are the opposite of something "arbitrary".
So you don't think distance has a bearing on the feasibility of the trip? Is there a difference in the feasibility of driving 10 miles vs 10000 miles? (btw that's the exact same factor of difference between the ISS and the Moon). That's the same as a round trip from Miami to Anchorage vs a round trip to your local Home Depot - there maybe "precious little in between" that would "interest a manned" drive - but it doesn't mean the feasibility is the same?
A fact is arbitary if it has no relevance to the discussion. For instance - in this discussion, the color of the astronaut's socks is an arbitrary fact. The color of the astronaut's socks does not make getting to the moon easy or difficult. Likwise, the distance between the earth and the moon is not the thing that makes getting to the moon difficult. There is nothing to in space to stop you. Once you apply a force to a mass, inertia will do the rest. The hard part is getting your ship out of the atmosphere. This is not how travel works on earth, so I can understand your confusion. On earth, gravity pins you to the groudn and friction dampens your inertia, so you have to continually apply force to your vehicle. Difficulty increases exponentially with trip length because you must either carry enough fuel to apply a continual force to your vehicle - thus making your vehicle heavier and harder to move - or stop for fuel along the way. There is no friction in space, so trip difficulty does not increase with distance apart from the difficulty incurred by the increase in transit time (which is not too significant for an earth-moon transit)
Is there any lie that would be more embarrassing to the United States than for it to be revealed that the moon landings were faked? If there is, I can't think of one. NASA and the US government will do everything possible to maintain the lie. A huge portion of SpaceX's funding comes from the US government. Elon knows where his bread is buttered. I wonder how successful SpaceX would be with the US government as its enemy?
This shouldn't be so complicated for you to understand.
Ah yes, the old, "there is no evidence for my theory which proves my theory is correct, since it must be awfully important to the powers that be in order for them to bother to hide every single piece of evidence" theory.

Well done!
Are you referring to the evidence of humanity's crowning achievement that keeps being disappeared by NASA or some other evidence?

All the evidence (samples, images, memories), all the 10s of thousands of people that worked on it, all the other countries that could easily disprove the landings, all of it "disappeared"
It is ph*cking unbelievable that this site has threads that deny absolutely confirmed historical scientific facts and attract pages of deranged naysayers. It says everything one needs to know about the frequenters of this site and contemporary American culture.

Well, since the evidence that we did go in the form of telemetry data for all six trips disappeared and the video / photographic evidence is clearly fake and communications between the moon and Houston apparently broke the laws of physics and even ChatGPT thinks lead shielding of tens of meters thick is required to safely travers the Van Allen belts, I would say there is no evidence. An absence of evidence that something happened is evidence that it didn’t.

thats your argument?
10s of thousands of people means diddly squat. Everything is so siloed in large corporations that you could have employees work for years on straight BS and they would feel accomplished and motivated to keep spewing out BS, thinking they were contributing to the greater good but none of their end product was actually being used. The only people in on it would be at the very top, and, of course, the actors and Stanley Kubrick.
How many cashiers at Wal-Mart go into their executive planning sessions? LOL.

20 astronauts! Mission Control! All their families! It’s more work to fake!
Why hasn’t ANYONE taken a photo of the empty landing sites? It would be so easy! Russia or China could do it tonight!
This is why I included 'and others, such as high school astronomy clubs', because, obviously, once a liar, always a liar so who would believe anything NASA produces. A completely independent 3rd party is what is required. At this point, I'd likely only believe if both the Chinese and Russian produced such imagery. In this case, I would still believe that all pictures and video evidence was faked, because you'd have to be a moron to believe that garbage. And, I would still think that NASA are beyond incompetent for losing every second of telemetry data from all five missions.
A random dude in Arizona took some photos! Think about how easy it would be for Russia or China to take photos of the landing sites and show NO landers - they could even photoshop it! Why haven’t they? Because it’s a piece of propaganda that even they know is so stupid it wouldn’t work.
Elon musk is sending astronauts to orbit. The Artemis missions and SpaceX will send people around the moon. Will those be faked too? Even in this era?
“I won’t believe any evidence presented” is not really a statement you want to make when you are trying to convince people to listen to you.
That’s too simple. Conspiracies have to be complex!

Your previous post was better, with a hint of humor. This one ^ is just idiotic with no redeeming qualities.

Want to try again?
Some guy posted how a random amateur in Arizona took a large composite photo that can see the landers… if Russia or China can’t measure up to some guy in Arizona?? That’s your excuse?
