are we sure this isn't a similar case to jesuit la last year? that team also had "4+ 180 speed ratings" the thing is they are not going against any well known teams and a team we never heard of Brookline is apparently super legit. According to these ratings they are better than American Fork / Herriman, yet I highly doubt that will be the case at nationals

I checked their runners top 5 profiles it’s not unrealistic to think these 5 runners could be 180s. I wait until they go against some big teams before hyping them up.
I just found out this is the same course NXR Northeast and NY are run, these guys are very legit. I would put them up their with American Fork / Herriman
Yeah I think CBA is the best in the region, and there will be a battle between Westfield and Union Catholic for the #2 spot. Brookline will be close too
Speed ratings are a good guide, but they aren't foolproof in comparing times on different courses. It looks like they are both great teams, but we won't know who is better until they are head to head. If CBA wants to assert itself as the best right now, they should travel to race some competition head to head.

Ah, the Rocky Mountain method. Don't travel anywhere and put up good times on courses in your back yard. Never get beat by anyone, never beat anyone.
Herriman was at Woodbridge last week, and Bob Firman this week. That's a lot of travel on kids. Probably close to 30 hours between driving to Woodbridge and back and then to Boise. Woodbridge has wins over a bunch of really good schools. The Rocky team that everyone cried about not getting an at large had speed ratings of 193, 183, 173, 171, 161, 156, 149 last year. Herriman's 182, 181, 180, 178, 177, 173, 171 would have scored 56 points last year after all the spot adjustments. Rocky would have scored 126. Herriman was absolutely dominant yesterday.
Looks like Sophia Rodriguez (16:49.78) just missed the all-time Freshman XC record by London Culbreath's 16:48.59 from 2016. Can't wait to see what she does on a faster course.

Herriman traveled to win some big meets over many very good teams and their Woodbridge results were very impressive. I choose results over well established teams over speed ratings. I have no doubt that Herriman/American Fork will beat CBA coming nationals despite their speed ratings being lower
