Wilson: 13/22, 95 yards, 1 garbage time TD and 2 picks. ESPN QBR of:
10.1, 19.3, 37.1, 65.3, 41.4 this season
Compare to Mahomes:
30/40, 306 yards, 1 TD, 1 pick. ESPN QBR:
60.4, 74.7, 70.5, 81.5 68.9
So Mahomes' worst game was Wilson's best game
Yikes, I just looked at Russell Wilson's ESPN QB rating - 38. 28th out of 32. I am not sure how it can be so low because 12 TDs and 4 INTs is not terrible. Joe Namath used to have more INTs than TDs.
Joe Namath is irrelevant. Different era. Different rules. Different TD/INT ratios across the board.
I see what you did there - scan the stats to find someone who sucks even worse, then compare RW to me.
Not very nice of you.
Actually, Dak ranks 8th in ESPN QB rating. This is puzzling. Dak has a QB rating of 64 while Wilson has a 38 even though Wilson has 8 more TDs and they have same INTs.
Perhaps it is time to stop referencing ESPN QB rating.

I kind of agree with you. Their ratings don't really make sense.
You need to know professional Am. football history. Old A.F.L. was established as an exciting league to compete against old N.F.L. Long ago, old N.F.L. teams had running quarterbacks, there were short passes and teams usually only threw the ball about (10 to 15) passes per game. Old A.F.L. quarterbacks were encouraged to throw deep and throw often. The stats of old A.F.L. QBs do not look good compared to QBs who only played in N.F.L. People who know football knew not to overly punish old A.F.L. QBs for their high interception numbers. That is why George Blanda & Joe Namath are in Hall of Fame despite their bad interception numbers. Not in H o F but another old A.F.L. QB who was a fan favorite, Daryle Lamonica, a.k.a., "The Mad Bomber."
You say some interesting stuff. In '69 Johnny Unitas (who was considered the best QB ever) had 12 TDs and 20 INTs. He would not be playing today.
In 1969 Unitas was no longer in his prime. He sat out the entire previous season with torn arm muscles and didn't have the quality of receivers he had during his MVP years. I don't know if he would be playing today but you can't made that assessment based on his 1969 season.
Russell Wilson had a second-straight lackluster performance, and he has not fulfilled the responsibilities expected of him when given a record contract
However we all have to concede that this is a pretty legendary thread - I mean it's now 40 pages long.
Serious question though - Wilson won't probably be a 1st ballot HoF guy but he most likely will get in right? But is there any amount of damage he could do in these final (awful and downright bizarre) years of his career that could compromise that? Gut feeling is no, but what do we think?
Perhaps it is time to stop referencing ESPN QB rating.

QBR is a more sophisticated rating that takes context into account.
“Most would acknowledge that a 7-yard completion on third-and-10 is not a successful play, but base-level statistics treat all yards equally.”
“Context for each play includes the down, yards to go for a first down, distance to the end zone and time remaining in the half. All of these factors can be used before the ball is snapped to estimate the future net score advantage the team currently on offense can expect. This estimate is known as "expected points.” After the play, the change in those factors lead to a change (positive or negative) to the team’s net point advantage. That change in the expected points caused by the outcome of the play represents the play’s value, or its Expected Points Added (EPA), given all the context.”
“When a team fails to convert on third down, struggles in the red zone, takes a lot of sacks or turns the ball over, it generally registers as negative EPA for the offense. But not all turnovers are created equal: A Hail Mary interception at the end of the half is not as impactful as one in the middle of the second quarter –- and EPA knows that.”
“EPA provides the context for every play and also holds the key to separating the quarterback’s impact from his teammates’. For all plays in which a quarterback is involved -– passes, rushes, sacks, penalties, fumbles, etc. -– the team-level EPA is calculated and then divided among a quarterback and his teammates. In other words, was the play successful and how much of that success is a result of a quarterback’s skill?”
“For example, Rodgers’ longest completion against the Redskins was a 34-yarder to James Jones in the second quarter, but he could have gained those yards through the air or on a short screen that was broken for a long gain. He also could have completed the pass when under duress or thrown it from a clean pocket. In all of those scenarios, Rodgers’ level of skill differs, and the credit he receives for the 34-yard gain (or in this case, plus-2.0 EPA) should differ as well.”
When this is your number one receiver there will be problems
Hurry Up and Trade Jeudy Broncos general manager George Paton needs to trade some players away, and the sooner the better. Perhaps a player at the top of the list should be wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. The former first-round pick (2020) does not produce up to the expected level, and his behavior this season shows his desire to be with the Broncos is not as strong as you’d like. There have been rumblings about the Carolina Panthers being interested in Jeudy, but that doesn’t make a ton of sense. Adam Thielen is their top target, and D.J. Chark is there to take the top off the defense. Behind those two, rookie WR Jonathan Mingo has made Terrace Marshall (a 2021 second-round pick) expendable. With so much talent, I can’t see the Panthers trading for Jeudy unless they move on from Marshall (recent reports indicate he is on the trade block).
Give Wilson a Travis Kelce or Tyreek Hill, the guy simply has no receivers. nobody who can seperate so there he stands waiting, not good. He needs a go to guy like Doug Baldwin or Tyler Lockett.
Wilson has a 65 comp% 12-4 td/int and a 99 passer rating, solid numbers,

I've made this point repeatedly and you either ignore or don't understand it.
Russell Wilson and the contract he was given is the main reason that there are not receivers, defense, etc. EVERYTHING financially and draft capital is tied up in a now mediocre QB. It is one of the worst moves in NFL history and will take years to recover. You cannot put 25-35% of your salary cap into a mediocre player and expect to survive unless all other pieces are in place and that one player is an ABSOLUTE game changer. Russell Wilson is NOT that guy.
Give Wilson a good TE. How about Noah Fant? Oh, wait, he was thrown in to get Wilson. Just another horrible decision to what Denver is now dealing with. If Wilson would not be so much dead $, he would certainly be gone at the end of the season.....and may be anyway. A HORRIBLE decision by Denver to go this route.

Wilsons final season as a Seahawk he was a pro bowler, had a passer rating 103.1. So he arrived in Denver as one of the top QB's in the NFL. Where you getting mediocre from?
His first head coach was so bad he got fired. Now here e is on a team with a terrible defense and not one stud receiver, no stud TE. But there he is putting up solid numbers anyway.

Best players in the NFL. Wilson at number 4
4. Russell Wilson QB | Seahawks Age: 32 2020 rank: 4 With the drama from earlier this offseason on the back burner, the Seahawks are excited about Wilson's potential in Shane Waldron's offense. They believe it will fix what led to last season's second-half collapse and put Wilson in position to produce like he did while leading the NFL in touchdown passes over the first nine games. -- Brady Henderson Signature stat: Since entering the NFL in 2012, Wilson leads all quarterbacks in several categories on throws traveling at least 25 yards beyond the line of scrimmage: completions (159), completion rate (41.8%), yards (6,421) and touchdowns (53). What they are saying: "Russell is a collection of world-class behaviors. ... He has very good gifts, but he has exceptional behavior. But if he didn't act the way he acts, he wouldn't be who he is." -- Trevor Moawad, Wilson's mental conditioning coach 2021 projection: 4,083 passing yards, 31 TDs, 11 INTs (425 yards/2 TDs rushing)

Russell Wilson no longer plays for the Seattle Seahawks.
A journeyman backup QB put up better stats in his first season as Wilson's replacement in Seattle than Wilson did his entire career?
In today's NFL, with few exceptions, a team has a very small window to excel before a franchise QB eats up the majority of the salary cap. EX: SF has a really good current team. But if Purdy continues at his current rate, that will all change when his rookie contract ends and SF will not be able to afford to keep everyone, Warner, Kittle, Samuel, etc.
And in this case, not only did Denver cripple the cap, but they gave up solid players and devastated their draft capital to build the rest of the team. A team cannot follow this pattern unless all the pieces but QB are already in place and the QB is a Brady, Manning type game changer. Russell Wilson is NOT that guy and Denver is paying a huge debt for this POOR move.

The guy has the sexiest wife in the NFL, among the top $$$$$$$ makers. One of the few Superbowl winning QB's currently in the NFL, His first decade of NFL football the best first decade ever seen by any QB, nobody ever did it better, Can start with most wins, Wthout question the greatest dual threat QB we have seen. Only QB in history with over 5000 rushing yards and over 40,000 passing yards.
So here is this great QB stuck on a team that can't stop Fresno State, looking to dump their top receiver, no TE, no pass catching running back. Wilson needs a defense, the guy needs some receivers cat needs a stud TE, That's reality.
There is a reason the guy makes all that $$$$$$$$$, yep......great QB.
There is a reason this has been the Broncos QB situation since 2016
Trevor Siemian Paxton Lynch Brock Osweiler Case Keenum Joe Flacco Brandon Allen Jeff Driskel Brett Rypien Kendall Hinton Drew Lock Teddy Bridgewater
Wilson stuck on that team, sheesh~~~~

You either do not know football like you think....or are too stubborn to address FACTS that others provide.
Either way, it is past trying to have a civil discussion when one party puts their head in the sand, and repeats the same drivel FAR AWAY from the topic.
Geno Smith has a 84 passer rating after 10 seasons, dude......keep it real ok?
Wilson needs some receivers he needs a defense if you can't see that I can't help ya. Can't believe you called a pro bowl QB mediocre, So the fact the Broncos have had a dozen QB's since 2016 doesnt tell you something?
The Denver Broncos drop to 1-5 after a 19-8 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Russell Wilson went 13-of-22 for 95 yards, a TD and INT. Colin Cowherd explains w...
