I wouldn't think so. Their girls are generally in the hunt for state and national accolades in a way their boys haven't been in a long time. That's partly why I mentioned the boys in my post.
Are the girls at their peak? if so that is worrisome because they are much slower this year. Hopefully they are better sharpened in 2 weeks.

I know all to fondly the battles between Dana and Buchanan in the late 2000s

I was at university during that time but I kept up with the big meet results. Every year I was impressed with how much faster teams and individuals were getting.
In the last meet, DeGeorge and J Sloan ran the 6th and 7th fastest times on the Ventura team, but they didn’t run in this race for some reason.
Ventura had a good 3-4-5 compression though.
no degeorge coming back it looks like, that's too bad
Seems like every top team is putting a JV non-senior runner or 2 in for this race, because they know for sure they will qualify. They are probably giving nonseniors experience for next year to qualify, or continuing to have people fight for the 7th spot.
Dana Hills boys team didn’t run their regular 6th & 7th guys. They put 2 nonseniors from the JV team, probably to give them varsity experience for next year

Is Great Oak’s Brown still sidelined or will he be able to make it to post-season?
Westin Brown is in the entries list for Prelims. There are 12 great oak boys on that list. Not sure if he or who from Great Oak will be in the lineup today. Last year they let some JV guys race at prelims
Partly off-topic, but I just noticed that the Ventura program is now NB-sponsored, whereas even just a few weeks ago their jerseys still said Nike. Presumably that change applies to all their athletic programs, not just XC/TF, but I wonder what role, if any, Sadie's NIL deal might have played?
Why do teams that all of a sudden become good, also become immediately easy to hate. JSerra having their first girl WALK today in the middle of a race until the next group caught her is so disgraceful to the sport. Ok, you are good we get it, but have some class.

Why do you need to criticize them at prelims? They’re high school kids
The fact that a high school kid thought that this was ok is a problem in itself. Prelims or not, have some respect for the sport and your competitors.
What I find tasteless is that a Buchanan coach commented with an eye roll. THIS IS A KID. So disgusting for a coach to eye roll at any kid. We don’t know why she walked. Her coach may have told her to on the big hill. We don’t know. Disgusted that an educator and coach chimed in from a competing school with an eye roll.

This is a very strange claim. Are you saying that one of the Buchanan coaches drove all the way from Clovis to LA to watch the SS prelims, witnessed the walking, and was seen rolling his/her eyes? Or was there a social media post or video that they replied to?

From what I said I don’t think anyone could think I was saying that a coach drove from Clovis to LA to watch the SS prelims, witnessed the walking, and was seen rolling his/her eyes.
But since it was confusing…Rich Gonzales posted a picture on his IG of the Jserra runner…tagged JSerra…said that the runner was seen walking up the hill…started to run again when the competition was closing in…and still won the race. A coach from Buchanan…from their private IG account…with their name and profile picture…commented with an eye roll emoji…followed by likes of the eye roll including from Rich Gonzalez…then poof the post was deleted.
