Reagan was so disengaged and ignorant that his staff would start the Marine One engines to drown him out so he wouldn't say wrong things to the press. They forced him to read scripts to avoid his dreaded ad libs. They made little movies about issues because he refused to read briefs.
Bush 2 was also ignorant and not real interested in digging into the details.
Now Trump, who golfs a quarter of the time, knows virtually nothing about the world, and listens to his family more than experts.
Bush 1 was solid, but that was 29 years ago. And he was a rare one term president - the repubs didn't like him.
And compare that to brainy hard working Clinton and brainy hard working Obama. And brainy and hardworking HRC and Gore, if you want two Dems who lost.
