I can foresee at least one scenario in the women's 4x400 that will end with the US coaches getting roasted. US gets a lead through 2 or 3 legs, but then gets run down by the faster women on the anchors of other teams. If that happens, somebody's going to get nuked for letting Syd run 2nd.
Which medals were surprises other than Rooks (in the weakest distance final of the meet?
Every American medal was by someone who has been one of the best in the world the last few years
Batocletti came 7th in Tokyo as a 21 year old and everyone on here thinks she's the biggest cheat of the games
Well...her PR in 2020 was 15:46 (5:04 pace) and then in 2021 it was 14:46 (4:45 pace). Also, the 5K started out at like 16 flat pace and dropped to 14:30 pace so she was better than her new PR of 14:31 that she set in that race.
Also, her dad (who coaches her) was a distance runner and got popped in 1999 for Nandrolon....
USA did that without Hall or Norman, though Norman hasn't been running well. We're deep - use the best relay guys. If some of the individual event guys are also the best relay guys, fine, but don't feel obliged like in the 4x1
Do that in the 4x1 too. The goal is to win the race, not give people a shot at multiple-medal glory.
Absolutely. That's what I meant. They seemed to feel obliged to run the stars in the 4X1 and they shouldn't - ever.
