Nope. Not close. You should try watching what's actually happening, instead of accepting the horse-sh*t 'narrative' the 'pundits' have decided to peddle on our pathetic MSM this week.
What's happening for close to the last week now is nothing *close* to a 'stalemate' --though the media have chosen to *tell* you that's what it is roughly 8,000 times.
The Ukies are kicking the Russians' asses up and down the country --despite being outgunned and out-funded about ten to one, and despite the fact we and NATO have STILL only given them about one *twentieth* what we should have months or years ago.
The Ukes have steadily taken back key territory in every sector of the country (with the obvious exception of Mariupol) for the last five days or so,... and that's gonna continue tomorrow.
They're about to fully encircle --and then either exterminate or take prisoner-- 5 or 10K R troops stuck in the woods NW of Kyiv, which is going to be a *monstrous* morale-booster to them, and and even more devastating blow to the R's.
They're also rapidly pushing back the R's to the *East* of Kyiv --some 20-30 miles in just the last two days.
They've pushed the marauders well back around Mykolaiv, and are now poised to retake Kherson --which will crush Pooty's dream of a 'land-bridge' to Odesa. (Oh, and they blew the crap out of his biggest landing-ship today, in case you hadn't noticed --which makes the prospect of any 'invasion' of Odesa even more stupidly remote than it already was.)
They're clobbering the R's up and down the central East, from Sumy to Zaporizhzhia.
They killed their SEVENTH Russian general tonight, out of the 20 or so they started with, in theater.
It looks more and more like they actually *have*--as astonishing as it is-- wiped out something towards 40,000 R troops in a month. (That's killed, wounded, deserted, or taken prisoner.)
(And those are his *best* troops, for Chrissake. Anyone he may possibly find to replace them will be far worse than what we've seen so far --which is pretty hard to imagine.)
The Belarussians are refusing to play --in spite of *their* Nazi dictator's best efforts to force them to.
The R's have got no communications, close to no supply-lines, no gas, no food, no replacement for the hundreds of trucks and tanks they're losing every day.
Several hundred pathetic, starving, frost-bitten, mangled, disgusted R troops in the North today just quit, and walked back across the border. (This in *spite* of the fact that that'll likely earn them a death-sentence back home.)
Whatever ratings-driven media fantasy *you're* watching has very little to do with the real world.
In the real world, Putin's marauding horde of murderers are getting *killed,* and it's about to get much worse.
The next few days will bring mass-surrenders from exhausted R troops with no hope at all. (The only thing that's prevented that from happening on a larger scale already is the Kadyrov death-squads of Chechen baby-butchers following behind to shoot anyone who deserts or surrenders,... but even that's gonna lose its 'deterrent' very soon.) Don't be surprised to see *thousands* of them waving the white flag up in Irpin/Bucha/Hostomel in the next few days.
Then we'll see if that consolidation in the center, and big breakout in the South, will allow them to sweep across towards Mariupol, and possibly break the horrific siege there, before it kills *everyone* in the city the invaders have now completely destroyed.
All of this would happen *much* quicker, of course, if the US and NATO were providing a fraction of the help we need to be --but it's happening anyway, without us.
Pathetically inadequate as our help has been, it's still made a difference, and will probably start to make a bigger difference in a few more days, as the weapons Biden pledged last week finally start to get there.
Oh, and your assertion about how difficult it'll be for the Ukes to dislodge the 'dug-in' Russians is utter nonsense. When you've got no re-supply, little food or fuel, expiring ammo, no comms, no will to fight, on enemy territory where every person around wants to see you dead, 'digging yourself in' is akin to digging your own grave.
And that'll be even more true in a few days, when the Switchblade drones start arriving.
Your frozen foxhole's not gonna protect you in the least from them, or from one of the ten thousand Javelins flouting around, set to 'top-down' mode.
Hundreds of Russians are already dead in the foxholes they stupidly spent the last few days digging. In another few days it'll be thousands. (Though by that time, most of them will have climbed out with their hands up anyway, or fled back towards the border.)
The Russians have *lost*. The psychopath Putin has *murdered* his vaunted giant army, his country, and himself.
The only real question now is how much unimaginably awful damage he'll yet do to how many *more* innocent people before he gets 'Ceaucescu'ed' or Julius Caesar'ed by his own.
