People like Sage because he is willing to take risks and mix it up trying to do different races and push himself even though he knows he is not the best at some types of racing.
As for Malcom Richards, I don't know anything about him, except that he finished over 3 minutes behind Canaday today.
Cabada also offers online coaching.
So... if you pay him a stupid amount of money, he can show you how to over-hype the crap out of your potential and drastically under perform on a huge stage.
He'll teach you how to make training videos that make you seem like a douche, brag about running over 100 miles a week for the first time as a professional marathoner and get so many news outlets to print stories about your rise to mediocrity, even you will start believing the ridiculous hype you've set up for yourself.
Get on that everyone! Sounds like a great deal!
He ran a faster time this year than Shalane Flanagan did last year, and she finished in 7th place!!! That's strong stuff.
Early leader Derek Yorek continues to battle. He just hammered a 27 and change 5K between 30 & 35K. Appears that sub 3 is slipping from his grasp after that 16:18 first 5K and 1:20 first half. At this point, I'd say anything under 3:30 will be a victory.
Rojo, please confirm: Not or now?
for the 'the fix was in' guys last year -
note that Meb ran way faster last year ftw than desisa did this year

Regarding: Breaking news from Larry Rawson - RItzehein will no consider trying out for the 2016 US Olympic men's marathon team.

The woman Meb congratulated was Hilary Dionne of the BAA (Dartmouth '05; go Big Green!)
I think you mean Dartmouth '07... ;-)
But anyways, great race and finish!

Chris Chavez was sitting about 30 feet from me during the race. That wasn't him on the course.
Please tell us you relayed on that someone thought he ran, right?

She is listed as age 21? A typo.

F21 is her bib number.
they don't list age in the results.

note that Desisa's time this year is just another data point that is not in any way out of line with the history of BM winners over the past few decades. As a result, his win this year adds no meaningful new information to the discussion about what happened last year.
Dionne is Dartmouth '07

She was born in 1985. According to my fuzzy math that makes her 17.

What I don't understand is Makau dropping out just after 5k. What was wrong with him? Why even bother running the race?
Chris Chavez @Chris_J_Chavez · 3h 3 hours ago
Patrick Makau dropped out due to a right quadriceps injury that was irritated by a deep tissue massage before the race.

Sweet! I'm digging your top-notch math skills, Coach. You should think about switching over to astrophysics or something.
Brojos, can you guys do a live podcast with audio commentary next year? It's really easy to do from your phone, you could just talk into the headphones/mic that come with the iphone. And I could listen to it inconspicuously it while working.
Rotich was laying her plans. She knew how to race this one and she even said it in her post race interview.
Hilary is D' 07!
