Good one, Santa Claws! I'm sure I don't know the answer, but it's a good chunk, that's for sure!
We went back to the hills today: 20' w/u, 8 x ~300m hill, 20' c/d, a light lifting session. Good stuff!

= the exact same percent of posts by Running Dogg. (I notice he didn't answer that YES or NO question: ie Did he post that he 8x800m 2:06 to 1:59 and ask what he can do for a 5k? (I know the answer to that one but I want to see him lie or admit it.))
30:00 on treadmill @ 144BPM.
3 miles easy, then 4x200 with 200 jog in 37, 37, 37, 35, and an easy 400 jog to finish. Though the 200's were pedestrian, at least they felt easy.

I still think the percentage is higher than that. :-) I guess you haven't been paying attention. In fact, it's obvious that you haven't or you would have seen my answer to that workout question. Why don't you tell us about your running?
Plans for today's running include an easy longish run. Hopefully I'll post the details later.
Have a great day!

Or just sidestep it, lulz ;)

No way to know from short reps like that. You could probably run a pretty quick 400 or 800. 5k would be a crapshoot. I'll guess somewhere from 14:00 to 19:00. What could you run 4 x 1200 w/200j in? That would give a better idea.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, I did your workout. Did the 1200s in 3:38, 3:36, 3:40, 3:35. Felt real easy and I'm sure I could have done a few more. I wasn't sure what pace to use, so I guess I took it too easy. My coach wouldn't give me paces as she was pissed I got the workout from you. I think it's good to try new things sometimes. Anyway, now tell me what you think I can run for a 5K. Thanx.
his famous 8x800 is what pete, skuj and others responded to. skuj told him 13:15 based on the 8x800. rd later "raced" 19+ and went after skuj for "bad advice". see page 25 and beyond of part1.
rd is nothing but a liar, kiddies. ironic that he brags about a positive #1 thread eh?

Can you link us to that 8x800 post? How about the 13:15 one? Are you Pete, skuj, or someone else?
12/26- 9 miles on the treadmill at the local gym, which was mentally torturous.
What follows if from pg25 of part 1. Running Dogg/Doubterer is very aware that the 8x800 workout caused mass hysteria (except for skuj intelligent 13:15 response) and it all got deletd. The "easy" 1200s that he said he did didn't get deleted though and look what happened: (ie Running Dog is nothing but a liar, kiddies. See for yourself.)

If you run this workout nearly as hard as you can manage (on short jog rest), and finish feeling like you could manage one more rep at the same pace but would prefer not to, it should be a reasonable indicator of 5k race pace. Sounds like you took it a little easier than that, so I suppose it's hard to say for sure, but probably safe to say 72s/lap or maybe a hair quicker. That's what, about 15 flat? I imagine you might have more in you than that if your aerobic fitness is strong (since you've got plenty of speed), but who can say for sure. Good luck in your next race, and my apologies to your coach. :-)

Well, unfortunately for me, you were way off with your prediction. I crawled through a 19:42. Yikes! My coach said you had me do that workout too close to race day. I guess she was right. She keeps telling me she knows better than anonymous people on a message board. Maybe she's right. She sure knew more that Skuj about training. I guess now I'll have to listen to her for a while. Anyway it's back to the drawing board.

Did I miss something from an earlier thread?
If this guy actually did those 1200s, he must have walked that 5k. Did you piss him off and he's just being a dink and I didn't see it? Seems like it, no?
Not only is Running Dogg clearly a serial liar; he has caused all knds of good people to vacate this thread in droves. And now he brags about how great this thread is. Sorry kiddies-I want the truth to be known before someone actually thinks this guy is for real. My work is done here. Happy New Year.
Today's run as planned: 83' easy. Did some light lifting after and that was it. Tomorrow's another day.

arguably a thread belongs to the collective of the people who post on it and no one in particular, not even the original poster.45 mins Tempo in the park. 1 hour total.

You're so right, the point. I'm proud that this thread has thrived, but I've never claimed it as my own. It truly belongs to the many letsrunners who have contributed their positive posts to this thread. Hey, I even think the trolls deserve a little credit for their contributions. Let's keep a good thing going!
Not sure what today's running plans are. I'll consult with Coach later and let you know what goes down.
Your mellowing. Thank you.
