Your comparisons between Ryun at 15 and Wiley are ridiculous. For a start, almost no one has had the career path that Ryun did, that produced md world records at 19.
The time you refer to when Ryun ran his first ever mile, of a very pedestrian 5.38 at age 15 (it isn't even good for a 12 year old) when he was untrained and with no background in the sport, to when he achieved 4.08 at 16, bears no relationship to the kind of jump in performance that Wiley has made after several years of training and competing. It is quite simply irrelevant to the discussion.
There is nothing in Ryun's progression that suggests Wiley is an equivalent talent, who could make the kind of leaps in performance that he made at the very beginning of his running career. These huge improvements he made also did not occur after several years of hard training and competing, when he peaked at 19-20 and then got no better.
The point raised in this thread is that Wiley didn't show an outlier talent until recently, when she suddenly made a very big jump in performance levels, while being associated with a team that has been discredited. There are even former college athletes in this thread saying they don't buy it. That was never so for Ryun.
