Wayzata had a guy with a boot on walking up to get the trophy. Guessing it's Hayes McMillan, hopefully he's healthy for regionals. Can Lakeville North steal the state crown?

TCRC?
Scott Christenson is pretty good, great culture there, wish I could say I was surprised.
Abbey just looked phenomenal. Strong & smooth the whole way. 5:10 for the first mile—which if you’re familiar with Gale Woods includes an ugly hill. At the finish she looked like 16:43 was just a walk in the park.
I’m calling it now; she’s going sub-17 at State too (the course record is 17:03). And who knows what she will do at Yankton Trails on November 13th? The course record there is 16:48. We’ll see how much lower that will go.
As far as Wayzata, since McMillan is wearing a boot, Dietrick will probably have to close a gap on their 4th. He was sometimes in Wayzata’s top 4 last year. But they did put 4 under 15:50. Dietrick was not far behind. Barely missed sub-16. Without McMillan, their 6/7 won’t be good to rely on if they want to win so their top 5 better be on
Lakeville North’s fifth guy has to step up to win state. he has been far behind their 4th all season. If he can’t step up I think Rosemount can beat them. If a bigger field Rosemount probably would have won conference. Instead it seemed more like a dual meet in addition to a few guys like Hage, Starfield
Rosemount has a solid top 5 with Mulrooney and Harder as their low sticks. I am still waiting on McNeil to close a gap on them. He made state in the 3200 in track.
Minnetonka can win state if 3 guys close the gap on Westerlund.
I think Wayzata, Rosemount and Lakeville North are the 3 main state contenders this year.
Minnetonka could win it too IF 3 guys close the gap on Westerlund
6AAA Section speed ratings are out already:
Sam Scott: 187
Abbey: 156
187 for Gilles the day before. State and nxr are going to be fun.
Southwest barely misses out on state and returns 187, 169, 169, 147, 107. They will definitely need a fifth for next year if they want to secure their spot at state and do well there
Sydney Drevlow’s 8th grade brother (Logan) was missing but they put in another Hopkins 8th grader in the lineup. This team is gonna be really good in a few years

Minnetonka is truly the dark horse here, the only issues is their 4/5, who need to close up the gap on their 3rd and 2nd. I never thought I would say this for the whole season, but a Nick Gilles may be a favorite to win state again, if he can snag top 3, this team could produce something, especially if Wayzata’s 5 cannot produce. I think the order at state will be 1. Wayzata, 2. Lakeville N 3. Minnetonka
I agree, Minnetonka really could snag the win if McMillian on Wayzata doesn't run. Gilles would need to score 1 point and gap Hazma who would score the 4th point. Scott and Breker won't count for points, whereas Gilles, Hazma, and Casey will count in team scoring. Minnetonka's #2 will also need to beat Wayzata's 2-4 pack.
Oh and older Fries will need to step up big and run what he's capable of early this season around 16:15, I can't really see that happening though as re ran 17:37 this week.

Based on this year’s results, the only person capable of closing Minnetonka’s 2-3 gap is the younger Fries. He did that at conference
Yeah coach rendlund is still deciding to run Ryan fries or not it’s looking like he might. If not, Laninga stepping up witch he has ability to run 16:30s.
Yeah honestly in state the pace is fast enough to push Sean into the 15:40s maybe maybe 15:30s. At conference he didn’t really have a group to pace off of. He was trying to stay on jace hearter from Edina but didn’t have enough to finish with him.

??? He is or he isn't??? I'd consider holding Fries out, but if was a senior I would keep him in. Tough decision as a coach. Fries isn't the same runner he was in September.
Yeah he is looking like Ryan will run. Because he’s telling our alt loyd that he will have a 10% chance of going in. So I guess he’ll have a talk with Ryan soon about it and how he feels going in. Because maybe he was just having some off races and still has that 16:10s possibility like last year. For alternates we are looking at 1. Loyd Laninga 16:45 2. Dylan schneider 16:48 3. Also rendlund talked to Sam fellner who got 16:48 on a (long course) and also downin witch rendlund know is a good runner. But as of Older Fries running at state it’s not a 100%
