Couldn't decide between these two. Most everything they do is very listenable.

Love that song. And the explanation is exactly in line with what I was going to say before hearing it - a broad pastiche depicting a general sense of a lack of grounding, being lost, feeling disengaged. That's fairly clear from the lyrics. The only question is if it was based upon some particular event or period - something specific. Apparently, it is not.
Great song, thanks for refreshing our memories of it.
