The ISW daily assessments are all archived and available.
On the first day of the invasion they made the observation, "Russia will likely defeat Ukrainian regular military forces and secure their territorial objectives at some point in the coming days or weeks if Putin is determined to do so and willing to pay the cost in blood and treasure."
Even at that time they were surprised at Russia's failure to neutralize the Ukrainian air defense and air force. Within a few days, they said, "The Russian military has likely recognized that its initial expectations that limited Russian attacks would cause the collapse of Ukrainian resistance have failed and is recalibrating accordingly." By the end of the first week it was apparent to anyone paying attention that Russia had blundered, but the expectation was that they'd eventually get their act together.
As additional weeks went by it started to become more apparent that maybe the Russians weren't going to get their act together in short order and the Ukrainians were effective in exploiting their opportunities.
Pretty much anyone on the earlier thread worth paying attention to reflected that shift along the same timeline.
Key word being "significant". CNN did an entire story about 3 russian vehicles being forced to leave a town the other day and called it a "liberation"...
Even in Makariv it's pure propaganda and you buy into it 100% because you're so smart.
Now you can tell me the Washington Post is just a "Putin loving" paper.
significantA U.S. defense official corroborated the claim, saying that the Russian military had pushed from the east to as close as 12 miles from Kyiv. After the counteroffensive, those forces had retreated to about 34 miles away from the city, the official added.
Perfect example of MSM pablum you're being happily spoon fed.
Wake up and take red pill.
Since the Washington Post article is behind a pay wall, here's the gist.
Propaganda: Worldwide headlines announce a successful Ukraine counter offensive, retaking a "key" town outside Kyiv, Makariv.
Reality: Someone picked up a Ukraine flag blasted of a pole and draped it on a building. Picture was taken. From that, the Ukraine Defense Ministry trumpets a Press Release saying Makariv is liberated. There was no offensive and no reclaimed territory.
From the article:
Since Tuesday, top Ukrainian government officials had been touting what they called a key victory in their month-long war against invading Russians. They said Makariv, a key gateway for Russian forces to potentially surround and seize Kyiv, had been liberated from Russian forces — and that Ukraine’s flag was now flying victoriously over the town’s center.
Media around the world reported the news as the latest indication that Ukrainian forces were waging skillful counterattacks and defeating the Russians in vital locations.
…What happened here is emblematic of the two different yet intertwined wars unfolding in Ukraine, one taking place on the battlefield, the other in the realm of propaganda to shape public perceptions and bolster morale and support…
…the [Makariv] mayor said the reality on the ground was different. As of Wednesday, he said, Russian forces were still in control of roughly 15 percent of the town, an area they have held for nearly three weeks with little shifting of the front lines.
Article on what Rogan says about MSM impartiality and Ukraine:
“They [the Left] were very disparaging of Ukraine, and they were talking about the massive corruption of Ukraine, and how horrible it was over there.
And now, all of a sudden, they're looking at it like they're heroes. The same exact people. This is what's confusing.
...we're supposed to just ... veer away ... from the narrative that was being pushed just a couple years ago."
Finally, Rogan talked about how Facebook and other social media are strangely making an exception to their rule about posts promoting violence, if said posts are directed "against Russian attackers."

Wow. Redditt has a propaganda video From Russia bragging about this super, duper supply ship that will keep Russia going in its war efforts in Ukraine. I guess they ran the video and Ukraine took note.
This is the ship that was sunk to the bottom of the sea!
This clusterfook is like watching the Trump administration.

They were shelling civilians in eastern Ukraine for over 7 years and you didn't care about the Ukrainian civilians being killed.
Today you're pretending to.
Why the change of heart?
does anyone non named adult have a factcheck on this claim adult keeps making?
I could do it but I'm heading out the door.
How can you offer informative comment if you have not been following or researching events in Ukraine over the last 8 years?
Separatist and Ukraine forces have been swapping rocket salvos pretty much continuously.
Civilian deaths in Separatist regions during the Minsk "cease fire" are easily well into 3 figures. Adding those before and since, 4 figures. Ukrainians killing Ukrainians.
Here's about two minutes of Google research:
Russia accuses Kyiv of deadly missile attack on Donetsk
Rockets struck homes and a market in the Azov Sea port city of Mariupol on Saturday, the latest indication that the war has flared up again in eastern Ukraine.
