The only real "lock" on the race was Rupp. Congrats where it belongs.

Course and weather must have been really tough!
Where are Kipyego's eyebrows?
Let's take 4hrs break and meet for osako vs shutara vs inoue
Don't know anything about Clayton Albertson, but big Luke was waving him off in the early miles and Albertson came in 7th. Good job, dude.

He was always a long shot, but first time marathoner... I think he held his own. A couple spots away from B Lagat, Scott Smith, Sam Chelanga. Roadies are not crossing over because of this... just not worth it financially.
The thing with Whamsley is....... who cares? He didn't get top 3, that's really all that matters in this race.

not the greatest look when tuliamuk and kipyego embrace at the finish line and scream "KENYA!!!" with the american flag draped over them
Tell me you’re trolling?
I’m confused—are they U.S. citizens or Kenyan citizens? Because last time I checked if they are U.S. citizens then three AMERICANS made the team. Reminds me of when Meb won the Boston Marathon in 2014 and dopes were saying he wasn’t really an American—even though his family moved here when he was like 12 and he never ran at all until he moved here. Troll on...
Wow the top American women hopefuls really really blew up in the second half of the race. Can't even find most of them in the top finishers list.

Famous strava guy. Very impressive.
That womens 10k at the trails is going to be ???
Props to Hasay for finishing rather than posting the DNF. I wonder what went wrong. Wouldn’t have been mechanical if she finished.

I mean none of Kipyego and Tuliamuk moved here as kids so there is that. They are american but what bothers me is that Kipyego trains and seemingly lives in Kenya whereas Tuliamuk actually lives and trains here with NAZ in Flagstaff. Big difference.

No actually it's a valid point. V bad form - this does not help race relations at all.
Mens race depressing
Alphafly bouncers dominating as predicted.
Abdi getting a spot just shows how pathetic a trials these are. 43 give me a break.
As least the womans wasn't dominated by shoes, instead Kenyan's dominated.
Alphafly's took 4 of the spots on team.
Not the ideal outcome.
There's a good interview with CJ Albertson in the morning podcast of Mario Fraioli.
Shout out to Kate Landau, 14th place and 42 or 43 years old. Georgetown grad.
Hope the Brojos can let us know if ANYBODY picked Seidel in their top 5. And if they did - glorify their name on LRC.

Either they are Americans or they are not. Where they were born or train makes ZERO difference. If Kipyego prefers to train in Kenya (which is obviously working for her) that does not make her any less American. Many of the top swimmers in the world go to college and train in the U.S. but compete for other nations—does that make them Americans? Like I said, troll on—I’m done with this subtly racist nonsense.
