Trump says this stuff ALL THE Time at his rallies and his followers hoot n holler and raise the middle finger at whoever Trump is targeting.
Why are right wingers all the sudden struck with righteous indignation at “mean tweets”?
Because mean tweets are different from dehumanizing tweets.
calling Trump Hitler on the cover of a magazine incites people to violence. When you equate trump with one of the worlds most evil figures then it feels ok to attack him…because hitler was evil.
when trump makes school yard bully comments on twitter about Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio or Rosie O’Donnell, they are indeed mean and derogatory and mocking, but they do not rise to the level of someone wanting to commit violence towards them.
there has been a lot of left wing towards right wing violence lately, trying to murder a Supreme Court justice, an assassination attempt on Trump, a shooting at a baseball game towards a republican senator…
it’s because the left uses the most extreme language possible against their political opponents. Not petty insults, but rather words like fascists and nazis.
When the left talks like that and writes articles like they and posts blogs and tweets like that, almost inevitable that people would eventually commit violence towards conservatives.
Trump insinuated that Ted Cruz’s father was involved with Oswald in JFK’s assassination. So school yard bullying.
“His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald's being — you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous,” Trump said Tuesday during a phone interview with Fox News. “What is this, right prior to his being shot, and nobody even brings it up. They don't even talk about that. That was reported, and nobody talks about it.” “I mean, what was he doing — what was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death? Before the shooting?” Trump continued. “It’s horrible.”
“All of us here today do not want to see our election victory stolen by emboldened radical-left Democrats, which is what they're doing.” - Donald Trump
“Because you'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong. We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing…” - Donald Trump
“We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore” - Donald Trump
Perhaps he should have toned down the rhetoric in January 6th before he incited an insurrection. If you believe Biden’s rhetoric was responsible for Trump getting shot, then you must believe Trump was responsible for January 6th.
Why do Trump’s rally goers have to go through metal detectors? I thought we were all safer when everybody had a gun? Maybe one of the people at the rally could have taken the shooter out before he fired, if only Trump allowed them to bring guns to the rally.
Incited? He did no such thing. What you're doing is called libel. Incitement and insurrection are two crimes that Trump is NOT guilty of. You can fact check me on that one.
Trump is far more guilty of inciting an insurrection than any democrat is to blame for Trump getting shot.
p.s. learn what libel is before making another post regarding anything to do with the law. Your gross incompetence is showing.

Saying you want lifelong servants of your own party publicly tried for treason punishable by death for doing their jobs is pretty dehumanizing. And Trumps surrogates like Steve Bannon, Alex Jones and Mike Flynn help fill in the gaps of what these threats mean by promising full civil war. War is violence and death. Remember?
If you believe that calling for treason is dehumanizing, then you believe that calling someone a fascist or a nazi is also dehumanizing.

Convicted felons don’t deserve to be humanized. #LockHimUp
Interesting to watch Trumpers try to whitewash Trumps violent rhetoric as just having a little harmless fun.
Most every one of those violent Jan 6th criminals that assaulted police officers said they 100% believed they were doing what Trump wanted. Obeying his calls to “stop the steal”.
Has our country always been this dumb? Or have we gotten dumber thanks to the media we have and the instant platforms to share our idiotic opinions? Mediums like this forum, any comment section, anybody the social media sites, websites needing to create content show just how dumb we are. Let’s start blaming the other side, let’s proclaim that this wins the election, let’s be the instant pundit and expert, let’s form opinion without truly informing. It is a sad downward spiral for this country. When we could only have information waiting for a certain time of the day and the major networks news broadcast, or the printing of the paper, were we better off?
"Most importantly, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, Trump is a threat to this nation." - Joe Biden
"So, we’re done talking about the debate, it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye.” - Joe Biden

Why would they all think that?
There were no police assaulted there. Surely you aren’t this stupid.
There was a similar comment before, but there were more than enough agents at the rally to protect Trump. The problem was that some of them were incompetent.
Trump is a billionaire, and if he is truly concerned about there not being enough protection at his rallies, it would be pocket change for him to hire additional security.

We have always had the potential to be this dumb. But to realize it, you first needed the rise of the 24 hour news cycle - making sensationalism and 'entertainment' more essential to the business of delivering the news. Then you had to follow it with social media, which removed the filter that was the once more responsible news media from the public discourse.
Granted, the potential for political violence is hardly new. Trump's nicked ear is less dramatic than Reagan's shot torso or Kennedy's direct headshot (also Kennedy's brother). Nor is the tendency to generate conspiracy theories new (see, again: Kennedy). But now some of the conspiracy theorists aren't limited to the street corner or the employee break room, but instead have platforms viewable by millions.
Bottom line is...our natural tendencies have been turbocharged.
Watch for Trump to make a Presidential statement that this shooting should not be about him. He simply has a minor ear scratch. Inside he wants the nation to focus on the true victims that were seriously injured and lost his life. And he also wants the nation to focus on eliminating senseless gun violence and divisive speech. It will be a call for unity
LMAO!
that's BS. Of course Trump will double down and make this more dire with divisive rhetoric blaming Joe Biden and the FBI and Alvin Bragg and all our allies and of course the deep state! Nancy Pelosi and Obama too. And tge fundraising martyr emails are being written right now. Maybe even new shoes!
These events tend not to happen in other Western democracies. It is a measure of where political discourse has fallen to and the extreme polarisation that has occurred in the US. The January 20 insurrectionist and "dictator on day one" has been a driver of that and has exploited it. Welcome to the world of the "sh*thole countries", Donald - and the American future.
Olaf Palme in 1986 and Shinzo Abe more recently
I said they "tend not to happen", not that it has never happened.
And you are deluded. There is nothing normal about this election. You are in a rehearsal for a second civil war. Because of Trump.
The liberals fired the first shot of the second civil war today.
You forgot January 6, 2020. And then the ruling by the SCOTUS giving presidential immunity (to Trump) for committing crimes. Trump says he will be a "dictator on day one" and vows "vengeance" against his enemies. The direction you are headed is inevitable.

If you demonize and threaten and swear to exact retribution on your political opponents, don’t be too surprised when all that boomerangs back on you.

Yes, we were mostly better off decades ago, even 15 years ago. I don’t think the population is dumber, well maybe by a few IQ points. The issue is that any idiot has a platform now. It used to only be celebrities, but now online personalities and even regular people have access to all kinds of propaganda on both sides.
The assassination attempt is horrific, and I would say the same thing if it was attempted on Biden or Hillary Clinton. I’m not going to get into specifics because it’s a fruitless debate. It was a bad day for America.
