Turley - is driving a fully loaded short bus off a cliff. His opinion piece has absolutely nothing to do with the actual charges in the indictment.
The indictment outlines 2 conspiracy charges and 2 obstruction charges. It has absolutely nothing to do with the First Amendment. Turley knows this. Turley isn't a scholar. Turley is a hack.
DONALD J. TRUMP, did knowingly combine, conspire, confederate, and agree with co-conspirators, known and unknown to the Grand Jury, to defraud the United States by using dishonesty, fraud, and deceit to impair, obstruct, and defeat the lawful federal government function by which the results of the presidential election are collected, counted, and certified by the federal government. Purpose of the Conspiracy 7. The purpose of the conspiracy was to overturn the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election by using knowingly false claims of election fraud to obstruct the federal government function by which those results are collected, counted, and certified.
Turley understands the law better than you do you arrogant fool.
The charge is conspiracy NOT using false claims. Using false claims is one of the tools the coconspirators used in the perpetration of their crime.
Turley is counting you to take the bait. You obliged him.
I found it interesting that the judge told Mr Trump regarding his release conditions 'do not commit any crimes' and 'do not try to intimidate any witnesses' (paraphrased). Mr Trump's track record is that of a mob boss.
It's remarkable, and he really doesn't understand that he is no longer protected by friends (NYC pre presidency) and by his position as POTUS. This is post-trial OJ on rocket fuel.

You're the arrogant fool here.
You think anyone who disagrees with your 10 minutes on Google legal experience must have an agenda and I'm the fool?
I think the only defense they will attempt is to claim that he reasonably relied on his lawyers to explore the available options, which included illegal schemes... with that they can at least try to spread some of the blame to his counsel. It will be a very hard sell to the jurors, but one of them might end up agreeing that he was too stupid to think of any of those options and wouldn't have been able to crime much on his own. Still, the judge will remind them that they must take the facts and evidence into account, and with that it becomes too difficult to not find him guilty. He was literally out there strong arming his lawyers, aides, and state election officials to help him break laws. He really doesn't have cover here.
Reasonably relied on a drunken Giuliani? If Trump had such high regard for Giuliani’s advice, why did he not pay him for it? It’s also common sense to know that the VP does not choose the winner of the election.
Regardless, he’s responsible for his actions. I don’t recall a bad attorney defense for criminal charges, but Trump could certainly sue Giuliani.
He was told by his lawyers that Pence could refuse to certify fraudulent elections and kick it back to the individual states' legislators.
You're conveniently ignoring that the entire indictment is built on the false assumption that Trump doesn't really think the election was rigged.
You didn't answer a very simple question.
There is evidence that trump was informed dozens of times by the experts he relied on that the results were legit and that there was nothing he could do about it. It doesn't matter if he still believed anyway. He had the information and even if he didn't he still broke the law with full intent. No amount of mental gymnastics can bend this reality.

Not Rudy, the other lawyers he paid who helped him come up with some options. But right, it doesn't matter anwyay. What I love about this one is that there is no way to argue the crimes, so trump is going to try to throw everyone under the bus to spread the blame. And in their defense they will spill it all out for the nation to see. He will be completely isolated in any attempt to defend himself. That is permanent damage to the loser.

Meanwhile, back in reality the law around objecting to election results is vague and open to interpretation.
Lawmakers passed the Electoral Count Act in 1887 after a contested election, and experts say they did a "terrible job." There may now be bipartisan support for a refresh.

Looks like atypical double edged question a communist would ask. of course trump thought the election was rigged, as well as tens of millions of others and still do. that’s not a crime bozo. thoughts are not crimes in our World. only yours. you can go ahead and believe the bribe taking President who can’t get 10 people to a rally beat out 1 in a quadrillion odds in the dead of night while we are sleeping. that’s your choice. Any normal person would question how that could happen. the good news is that we get to do it again in 2024. 👍🤜💪👊
Either Trump is a liar that perpetuated the biggest lie in our recent history that ruined thousands of lives.
Or he is the biggest Buffoon in history that can’t grasp or comprehend that he lost after having it explained hundreds of times by experts, his staff and even the two companies he paid to investigate.
is there ever a point of self reflection that causes Trumpers to think maybe Trump isn’t worth your allegiance?
Trump couldn't be both liar and buffoon?
Then, there could be other possibilities, too.
As far as "Trumpers" go. Perhaps there are many who deeply resent him (assuming they believe what is reported), yet they still find him to be slightly less awful amongst the choices.
It is deeply insulting, I imagine, for them to be told that they're terrible people lacking any self reflection, and that they supposedly hold an allegiance to a repugnant individual. I find it hard to believe that people can actually hold such a simplistic and condemning view about literally half the country's population. It seems that it would take massive arrogance, ignorant hypocrisy, and uncharitable discrimination to maintain that perspective.
Perhaps you need to get out and meet more people? Over time, you might find find that they're intelligent, loving, talented, valuable people who reach some different conclusions than you.
One thing that has yet to be touched on is this fact:
Sydney Powel, John Eastman and to a lesser extent Rudy Guiliani are absolute nobodies. They have no place in electoral laws whatsoever. They are entirely crack pots that Trumps true legal team was scared to death to have around Trump. They almost came to fisticuffs because the normies wanted them away from Trump to protect him from the pure BS that Trump was hearing! His damn AG Bill Barr quit over it.
If I have 5 bankers telling me my account is overdrawn yet seek opinions of some Randos to tell me it isn’t, I can’t claim that I did not knowingly pass a bad check because I chose the Randis viewpoint. If the bank told me I was overdrawn I knowingly passed a bad check.
simple stuff. Right wingers love Trump so much they believe anything
Pence: Let’s be clear on this point. It wasn't that they asked for a pause. The president specifically asked me and his gaggle of crackpot lawyers asked me to literally reject votes which would have resulted in the issue being turned over to the house of representatives.
