so allie's 19:19 short course record should have been a 19:34-19:44 in a legit 6k !?????
why don't you take on the task of measuring the distance difference of the 2 routes (start and finish position unchanged)? I can see the new route is longer, and does have more of the hill. But how much I will leave up to you to figure out.

idk the context of everything discussed about the race course in this thread all i know 19:19 was ran on a short course and that still stands as the 6k course record
if its the officials that told you about their mistake in the course, its not the actual number because everyone downplays their mistake, and surely they told you a shorter length of the real number
if you just analyzed it and figured it out yourself then, why not just finish it??? ill analyze and take notes if you upload the race ;)))
Anyone here knows the course record at Panorama Farms of UVA??? it seems like no one fast ran there yet, 2022 ACC Championships and 2023 NCAA Championships will be held there
cant find an info of the course record other than the mens

You and some of your NCState fans that hijack every thread would do us all a favor if you do a little research to understand cross country is a team event run on a course that varies year to year based on a host of factors. Look at track results to compare generational talents.
the audacity????
um i did the min/kilometer of the top ncaa cross runners from the recent races last week, so what did you compute??? didnt see your username give help
I (finally) had the bright idea to watch a 2017 race and yes the course was run differently. This may be exactly what "Lengthen in 2018" says but I didn't follow until I saw it. Back then at 2K instead of going back through the start line and up the first straightaway they doubled back through the S portion of the course that is in the Men's race (but not in current 6K course) and then back parallel to the start straightaway and then to the upper part where the current 4K mark is. Then coming down that hill they cut right across to the top of the hill near the current 5K mark and then finished as today. (Today they go all the way to the low point as they do approaching 1K). So the current course has an extra hill (you now run up the total "1K" hill twice) while before it was only once, and then the very top as they do today near 3K. Perhaps more clearly now they basically do 3 2K loops, while before they did 2 loops and an "internal" 2K. So comparing times before and after the change is apples and oranges. Flotrack has the entire 2015 and 2017 races but you need a membership.
Been posting about this several times. Been to this meet and the Nationals going back to 2017. Not the same course. Sean Hartnet knows what he’s doing and set up the NCAA course. That means the previous course was short.

I can tell you the course and weather conditions were faster this year than last year because I was there. Kiptoo’s performance year was better than the field this year but the time doesn’t reflect it. Look at his gap to the field. Use the track to compare generational talents.
It is actually not as easy to compare courses as you might think. On the curves, how do you know where the cuts in the grass/bracken were made and how easily people to cut distances off in the curves. The S curves had more issues that way because there were so many turns.
And the weather makes a big difference, in 2018 with two inches of snow and 28 degrees that steep uphill that is at 1km on the first loop was probably getting slicker after two and a half times up by the women, and then all the climbs up it in the 10km. While the race is not hilly al la OSU, going up that long stretch of about a kilo repeatedly leaves runners a bit pushed when doing it from about 8.4 to 9.3km because you do not really get any downhills to recover.
And while the Indiana St course is very good and has a large number of seasoned people that help it is a lot more fun to travel to Madison for hotels and places to eat/drink.
You and some of your NCState fans that hijack every thread
complaining about fans talking about nc state and katelyn tuohy on thread about an invitational that they won ?? umm ?
btw you are free to talk about other runners you like thats relevant to this thread but the thing is no one will care much to the runner and team that didnt podium

So you’re saying you and your friends don’t hijack every NCAA thread?
Yes she does. I wish the 5 of the rabid fans would just start a NC State thread and stay there so that the rest of us could discuss the other teams and runners without worrying about being bullied.

I guess I assumed the Men's course was kept unchanged ( to the best of their ability) but I guess I don't know that for sure. My crude estimate is that the new course is a little less than 10% longer over a stretch of about 1500 m so maybe ~125 meters which would be in line with the estimate of about 20 seconds...maybe add a little since 1 hill was added.

We clearly discussed the winning team and other relevant teams of the invitational
If youre jealous about the attention NC state and Katelyn gets, then not really our problem because NO ONES stopping you from talking about your favorite runner or team and NO ONES stopping you from making a thread about anyone or any team
I'll make one for you, so which team would you want to discusss from Nuttycombe ? I'll make a thread~

Stanford's write-up of the meet states that Robinson's 23:09.9 was a new course record . . .
If the course was really lengthen by 40 meters or more from the course used thru 2017, then Robinson's projected performance on the "old" course would be faster than Lawi Lalang's 23:02 course record from 2012.
This alone -- not even considering his level of fitness following an extended absence from training following his 27:44/10k at the Commonwealth Games in August -- should make Ty the betting favorite to win NCAAs next month
Your continued bullying shuts down every calm discussion. You post frequently but drive many people away from this site which certainly is not what they want. You also have done a lot toward creating an entire Tuohy anti-fanclub which is the saddest thing for this bright young star.
