I know, we're the same person.
Out of curiosity why is it not a smart move for me and my alter-ego?

Wow! Most of you people must have never done a race in your life. Yes, believe it or not, people do stop and say hello to their family and friends. She was doing a half ironman. For those of your unfamiliar with this, it is a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13 mile run...all after one another. What exactly is wrong with her saying hello to her family and friends who came out to cheer for her during a 6 to 7 HOUR race.
And for this buffoon to try and run her over? He couldn't have moved out of the way? What would it have cost him? Maybe one second. And he had the WHOLE road. Again, it's a 6 or 7 hour race. Him waiting ONE second mattered that much to him? Please get some perspective on this.
If he hadn't been there, she wouldn't have been moving her butt backwards to the middle of the road, trying to make contact with his a$$, the whole thing was his fault!!!

You must be new here.
Welcome.
I've never participated in a triathlon but isn't it normal to expect at least some occasional pushing and shoving in something that is called a "toughman" competition?

Oh, come on. You yourself said it - it's a race:
Definition of RACE:
a) a contest of speed
intransitive verb
1: to compete in a race
2: to go, move, or function at top speed or out of control
If you want the gal's version of reality, call it an event, not a race.
Dick Izzo calls himself a Race Director, not an Event Director
The Toughman website advertises itself as a race, and publishes "Race Results"
If you or the RD want this to be an event rather than a race, then construct it as such. Otherwise, Blair was doing exactly what he needed to be doing, and the woman was completely off bounds
Has she been DQ-ed? I have a hard time seeing how she wouldn't be. First, she impedes the path of a runner through a complete lack of awareness of her position and surroundings. Then, she brings a gaggle of kids ONTO THE COURSE at the freaking FINISH LINE!? What a huge liability concern that is. You're putting a group of kids, who don't belong on the course at all, into the area most prone to accidental contact.

She was going backwards the wrong way and was absorbed/distracted. The athlete bears a bit of responsibility to stay on course and to be aware of themselves-surroundings so they do not impede other athletes.
We now have photo-film evidence of at least two instances in which she impeded other athletes: the incident in which she was sideswiped by Mr. Cullen and then the finish line with her gaggle of 6 or 8 kids.
She is the one who should be DQ'd.

This. And what should worry anyone, she feels right and didn't do anything wrong. Charles the blogger is just as responsible too for telling such a half baked one sided story about an event he didn't even see in person or on video. I wonder what his publisher would say of his book knowing he at best used such poor judgement in telling this tale. At worst he went to great work to slander someone. Makes one wonder if his book is a tall tale.
Sadly being in the front of a race doesn't keep you from the Alison's of the world, since courses can loop or have mergers and whatnot. Sad thing is there a thousands of people like Alison. They are accidents just needing a time to happen.
First, that second post is not from me. Someone hijacked my handle. This is my second post.Second, your definition is right, in part. "Out of control" That's what he was. Out of control. First, with his unwillingness to budge an inch, as if it was HIS course and his course only. No one else mattered. Second, his behavior was out of control. Hitting a woman? Really? Who does that?I can't believe who some of you people are who condone his behavior and blame Alison.
real perspective, you say? wrote:

Except for the fact that he didn't hit her. Her gender is irrelevant.
Why don't all of you shut up. I have moved on. I am on this planet, trying to save the whales, help deaf orphans, and prevent global warming. I deserve the right to ruin other people's races and smear them on the Internet. I have earned it by being such a good person. The damage I do to other people is a small matter compared to the good I do. In the history of triathlon there have only been three athletes as valuable to the world as me, and the other two are in red states that no right thinking person would ever visit. Leave me alone so I can make this planet a better place.

What's Alison's last name, where does she work, if she doesn't work and is supported by a husband, what is his full name and employer? Since, Alison's supporters continue to defame an innocent man as a hitter/beater/abuser of women, when the charges are obviously false, and the whole non event was her fault only, then the whole world should be just as fully informed about their details. Do their employers know about this thread and all the evidence? Are they fired yet?

This^^^. He didn't hit her. She hit him. If there was a brick wall behind her that she hit in her oblivious state, she would have reacted the same way pitching forward as a result of impact from her own momentum etc etc
Then Charles could have started a rant about brick walls
Earth the ieie. You may want to check the video that has been posted here.

This is OBVIOUSLY not the real Alison. Why would you choose to use her name as your handle?

Yep. The blog portion of that Apple Seeds website had the same "Alison gets punched" story complete with the guy's name and photo. That blog post has of course disappeared now.
Even the sister of the future Queen of England got bumped during a race:

Didn't hear her whining about it on the Internet.
Was that a real race or were those two just running from the herd of buffaloes behind them?
